Exactly that! Over the last 24 years Ive made tens of thousands (For me, being dispossable income has been very nice) I could have made tens of millions if I caught every bottom and sold at every high but it dont work like that. And anyone who takes joy in the fact that someone missed out on the perfect entry and exit price says alot about them. Weird. sad and pathetic. That image and charachter trait dont really work in harmony with someone who has grown in life financially, emotionally or spiritually.

all due respect to iaglongterm - i have no idea who he is and unlikely to base my investment decisions solely on his say so. valuable as it is and balance to the rampers screaming £6 in a straight line.

my theory is tactic is to buy when it looks to oversold, when that is and how much is impossible to say. things are changing by the minute with conker *******s tango man. if we go into a recession it will be man made and i will with certain stocks drip buy on a monthly basis like i will with my managed funds. happy to buy stocks when the s and p is sub 5500 and iag sub 2.50. not happy to buy when they are tickling all time or recent highs.

Of course. Im in my late 40s. Also depends on what other irons one has in the fire. I am looking to be entirely out of stocks by my 60s. I have a rental property which will be my main additional source of income then. Stocks is and always will be totally disposable extra income.

eventually you have to some money down. Guessing the bottom is impossible unless your paviko or sundezza.

Buying at these levels is a gift long term. Buying at £3.60 a few months ago was too iff for me. In fact I sold in the low £3s to actually bank some cash. Do I wish I sold at £3.68 and bought again at 2.11 of course. But dont work like that for me.

Anything under £2.50 I will be topping up.

If the world goes into recession/depression/armageddon I will be topping up monthly not just into IAG but Vanguard funds and stocks.

The reason, it's being reported, was speculation that a top Trump administration adviser (said to be National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett) had suggested the president could be considering a 90-day pause on tariffs.

Reports first emerged through the US business news channel CNBC.

The White House has since told CNBC that any talk of a 90-day pause is "fake news".

Yep. Never let a crisis go to waste. You only make money on stocks when you selll them at a higher price than you bought them. Buying them at lows increases the chance that they will be higher one day.

My view the tactical aim has always been to neutralize the threat of Russia to NATO.

That has largly been achieved. We have gone from fearing the Russians could hit the Rhine in 3 days to the Russians struggling to occupy 20% of Ukraine in over 3 years.

As much as I hate putin for indifferently sending thousands to their deaths and the devasting effects this will have on a this generation and the next do we want him to totally fail? Better the devil you know sometimes.

Also we do not want Russia to totally collapse. Not good when they have the highest stockpile of nukes in the world.
