EasyJet and infrastructure company Stobart Group said they were looking at buying all or part of Flybe, which has valuable take-off and landing slots at airports including London City and Gatwick. (It has been an important “feeder” airline into long-haul flights from the UK’s larger airports.) Stobart made a failed approach for Flybe earlier this year when the share price was much higher.

Sorry to harp on about intangibles, but that is exactly why I have gone above my comfort level on this share beside the fact it 6x less than Nav and 33x less than assets.

There are thousands of companies out there with a balance sheet totally propped up by a completely fictitious figure - aka pixy dust.
Flybe have valued theirs as 11 million and like a poster mentioned earlier the slots are not allowed on the balance sheet. If you value these at a conservative 50 million the actual net assets is 168 million. Nearly 10x less than the market cap.

I must say I have never seen such shite written today - Aim read the last rns they want to go from a premium ftse listing to a standard one!!!

Credit card debts - chicken & egg more crap they have nearly 60 million in cash

The hangar “a key part of their organisation” just total tripe it was a ruddy empty hangar. They own one twice the size next door together with a 25 million pound hq.

Before you post lies just read the annual report and rns’s you sound like the daily mail and the telegraph completely illiterate.

Net asset value is 55p - 20-27p no way 15p would be entertained they could sell a few slots for that :-)

Heard that certain slots at Heathrow were sold for 75 million last year. 4 times our market cap.

Unfortunately that business has looked in trouble for 5 years. They have posted losses of over 500 million in the last 4 years and had negative net assets of 100 million.

Completely different business worlds apart. Always look at the fundamentals, ie trakm8 yesterday I am astonished it is still at 20p with 90% as intangibles and a loss more than cash in bank.

Read the rns’s annual report and listen to what we have been told.

Aberforth are simply derisking would you want to hold tens of millions of shares if a rights were to come out in 6 months at 4 to 1. Lots of ii’s have not sold a dime.

20p creating a bidding war to 23-30p max imo. The company buying will have to put in the groundwork, key management and staff and possibly in the future add some more funds. Would love 40p but I am being realistic

It will happen, look at that interview does that look like a lady that looks stressed out :-) A number of strategic operators, (not several a number) are they from the U.K I can think of at least 12-15 companies who would get a bargain of a life time. everyone is also only mentioning the likes of Stobart, EasyJet etc what about an international company like a venture capitalist, hedge fund, a transportation company? The news that Flybe is open to offers makes it a very attractive proposition especially with the pound where it is. Absolutely no way this is going be less than double this sp very very shortly.

And irv, Debenhams intangibles are eye watering we have property plant and equipment with no real value attributed to the brand whatsoever. 400 million loss for Debenhams we have made 7 million in the first half. This is not a zombie company like the hundreds out the there.

The Company confirms that, at the time of this announcement, it is in discussions with a number of strategic operators about a potential sale of the Company. With a number not several 3 plus then? Also used the words preserving cash yes the 70 million fooking quid!! Some are going to get very caught short here :-)))

Ignore the dross, focus on the cash in the bank, asset sales, 400 million plus in assets and Nav of 118 million plus 200 vital spots at many many airports. Once these sellers are done we will fly have a good one. Very upbeat report here, I do wonder whether this a tcg type shorting attack instigated by a number of different parties.
