Been off grid for a while, so apologies for the delay in reply Casitron to your question...
"...but why do you feel an RNS is obligatory given the company web page states “Plans are under way for the development of a shallow surface open pit mine” "
On many occasions the company makes statements about "plans to...." and repeat the statement over long periods, sometimes years. Such statements which provide no timescale generally don't impact the share price. On the other hand if mining operations have commenced, by which I meant extraction and offtake contracts secured and in progress, this would certainly impact the share price if made public. Under AIM disclosure rules if any info may affect the share price the market must be notified.
However Data made a good point that the satellite images indicate work is in progress but this could just be preliminary preparation and appraisal in which case I agree the market was already informed and no further RNS is required.
FAO data.. appreciate your comment about pro-actively searching out info, but it is very rare to find anything directly related to the Co which is not generally known. By direct, (I exclude macro stuff , and general growth/interest in the locale, which ok does have some bearing and is reassuring but it's just comfort food. Your research and finds are always high calibre.. in this case you have shown that things are actually in progress rather than just intentional with no given timeline
