What an appalling thing this check out operator who left his till to catch a shoplifter and was fired for putting people at risk. He committed suicide. Well I have had another look via Market Screener which does give a different picture. Liontrust have 15.3%, Herald IM 12.8, Odey am 12.4, Ray Anderson director 9.35%. Total 49.85 so from this site the free float is 20.67 odd for the ft to be wrong. Still quite a few shares for the public to play with eh?

Free float generally mean shares held outside major holders. Thought you would know th st. The ft is exceptionally accurate as a rule. So where did you get your breakdown from?

According to FT.com number of shares outstanding is 70.52 million and the free float is 56.27 million. This rather refutes the argument of a small free float as it is actually 79.79% which is actually very high for a counter like this.

But it don't work like that. Each jobber is in competition with the others and are looking after 100s of counters each. No sentiment at all and cut throat.

Depends on the outcome. Sometimes good sometimes bad. They usually happen at the end of trading as a rule to balance the books of the jobbers so will be affected by whether they are long short or balanced.
