Very impressed, emailed Cathal regarding why there are trials at Oxford starting this week that we are not involved in and had this reply....
“ Thanks for your email. hVIVO/Open Orphan human challenge study trials are very different to the first-in-man Phase 1 trials currently going on. Our trials are between Phase 2a and Phase 2b and only can occur once Phase 1 has successfully completed. Rest assure that we are in discussion with many first-in-man trials and are ready for the months ahead.
Likewise, the clinic is only temporarily closed for a couple of weeks as we had just finished a major vaccine study for a German pharmaceutical and between studies there is always a period of extensive cleaning and getting the facility ready for the next study.
Likewise during the study we have to bring in a large number of volunteers to have them pre-screened and have their bloods taken and for every one qualifying volunteer we usually have to screen on average 20-30 so to run a 100 volunteer study we would have to bring in between 2000-3000 volunteers to have their bloods taken and as I’m sure you are aware getting 2000-3000 volunteers into our clinic in London at the heart of the lockdown would be extremely difficult. However, we plan to fully reopen again in early to mid-May.”
Few weeks patience here guys and we’ll be getting an increased news flow with contracts that are with solicitors now ready to be announced and then this....
