Petrofac - Two significant milestones for the HKZ offshore grid connection project.
Alpha ready to land offshore wind power and Beta topside installed
Hollandse Kust (zuid) Alpha, our client TenneT's high voltage connection for the Netherlands' offshore wind farms HKZ I and II is ready for use. The installation and energisation of the offshore grid connection has been completed. Wind farm developer Vattenfall can now connect the wind turbines to the high voltage grid. On top of that, the HKZ Beta topside was successfully installed.
"who is investing most to reduce emissions. It's China by a long way!"
And that is because it is China that are producing things like solar panels. They are investing in themselves.
I can also say who is investing most in coal? It's China by a long way!

Lucky solar panels & renewables are coming down in price so much that it is becoming cheaper than coal.
Its all about the money as far as china is concerned. But tying up Western base company with legislation is not the way to go.
However, for what it is worth I do agree with the transition to renewables. Just not the way it is being done at present. This road is long and winding road with lots of ups & downs. Investments need to be done into the oil industry to tide it over.
Well, destroying our industy by raising costs will mean companies will continue to flock to emerging markets like China. Being happening for decades.
Don't you think it's strangle that giving countries with authoritarian government trade is acceptable ? Your phone parts are basically made by slave labour. Is that acceptable ? Batteries to make electric car move. Is that green?
This Russian thing is a prime example. We basically bought the ammunition for them to use. China is another example. Saving the planet from a nuclear holocaust is far more concerning than the greenhouse problem.
Funny really that cold countries like ours are trying to stop the planet getting hotter and hot middle eastern countries don't take any notice. It does not matter what the UK does regarding Co2. It's going to increase without a world agreement. Even if everybody in the UK puts a bullet through their head tonight the Co2 level wouldn't even flich.
One of many.

The Governments have laws in place to penalise Co2 producing companies. Here and every where in the West.
These companies have to offset their carbon foot print now. Hence why oil companies don't want to invest in new oil.
