Where are all these workshy, con artists?
RM have spent a small fortune in recent years on technology to track its employees. We have Trimble in the vans, Taco's in the lorries. PDA's that tell managers where, when and for how long their employees are. We have SISO now in every DO. Been in mail centres for years. We have line managers on the sorting floor overseeing the morning IPS. We have "resource to workload" to assist managers in their daily work plan and a host of other technology.
Are you saying that none of this works or is it that managers are too dumb and stupid ie not up to the job? Because if they are not up to the job, then there's a big saving there to be made!
JBT,before the delaying the ballot I would of said it was probably going to be a no vote.
A quick straw poll today and I would say that people just want the dispute put to bed, crossing fingers and toes that RM will do the decent thing re looking at the revisions. If it does eventually get through on a yes vote , then to avoid a flare up of the dispute around Xmas pressure this year, progress will have to be seen to be made. That's a tough ask but I don't think RM have a choice if that want to regain at some level of trust.
Usually the ballot takes a minimum of 3 weeks from dispatch of ballot forms to announcement of result. So we are talking mid July ish! Not a lot of wriggle room left if RM are to hit their deadlines.
JBT, I personally think a yes vote hinges on whether the CWU can convince the membership
that RM is genuine in that failed revisions resulting in failing the USO will be rectified. It's now not a pay thing,or even the watering down(although minor) in sick pay. It's that a lot of my colleagues are just fed up with being forced to fail their duty everyday. Only three years ago it would be sacrilege to see frames with undelivered mail and parcels, rarely seen and subject to a Spanish Inquisition questioning of why it happened! Now it's a daily occurrence for over half the duties in my office. The other half just book overtime or never take a day off. Long term that's not sustainable and ultimately it will lead to Q of S issues and loss of business imho.
Dyno, up here in my area north of the border, we still deliver massive amounts of Amazon prime deliveries all sent through the SD network. We we are a medium size office and used to get 20-30 SD's a day. Since the Amazon stuff came through that has gone up to 150-200 a day! Not sure how true it is but our previous manager said that Amazon were just paying their normal rate, there was no premium for sending through the SD network. It was just done so that the Amazon QofS was reached.
Out of interest, how do you actually delete your account but leave a single farewell post up?
Angers post history isn't accessible any longer, yet his last post remains. Call me cynical but something seem odd. I mentioned the other day that these boards do have a history of being manipulated, as like all social media sites engagement is the key for the hosts to make money through advertising and nothing gets the engagement going better than a good old fashioned ruck!
JB, I think quality of service and commitment to the USO have been front and centre. By all accounts RM planned for relaxation of the 6 day delivery and expected the government to play ball. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on your stance, the government had other ideas and didn't want another public relations disaster on their hands, so kicked it into the long grass.
The long and short is that revisions that have been put in will be gauged successful or not if the quality of service and USO are met.
There's going to be a lot of work to get this right and a lot of bridge rebuilding. The next few months are going to be critical for both sides and both sides desperately need this to work!
Fingers crossed !
If anyone's interested???
"Agreement reached on national statement which satisfies CWU demands. CWU comms issued tomorrow. National zoom call with branches next week. National joint zoom with all Reps and Managers next week. Date for ballot agreed by PEC."
Fingers crossed!
Red, the last thread he started was his usual venom soaked rant, strewn with obscenities and general disparaging remarks against my fellow colleagues. I did reply to him saying that if he toned his posts and maked them less personal then maybe he would of got a better reception. After all I know that you and I are probably diametrically opposed in most of our views but your posts never get personal. In the end you reap what you sow!
Jeez Tate, did you read that post before you sent it? Talk about pot, kettle, black!
Of all the posters on here, your venom is by far the worse. Maybe, just maybe,if you tone it down, and cut back on the insults yourself, you might find that people might engage with you more. You might even find that your view point finds a little support.
Try it, you might even surprise yourself.
Won't hold my breath though.
ISpy, not heard anything about a managers pay deal. There current deal runs until August and I'm sure I read that any deal going forward for 2023/24 was to be contingent on the implementation of frontline operational changes.
As these operational savings are dependent on the CWU ballot, it's probably the reason Unite CMA are very quiet.
Maybe they'll ballot for strike action, but would anyone notice! Lols
Tate, Simply Wall St, give the man a round of
applause.
"According to my information out of all of those institutional holders only the later have sold any in the last 12 months and they sold 4.2m shares in December 2022….."
Yep,when you're selective in your facts.

Your saying their shareholding is less than it was in February at 4.01% now!
100% wrong, 100% of the time!
Sorry you missed me Tate, been on the beach.
Tate, which recent CEO of a UK logistics company has recently been fired and is now on gardening leave!? Was he fired because he lost the confidence of shareholders? I'd argue yes!
According to my information all these shareholders have reduced their holdings in the last 12 months
Jupiter Fund Management Plc
The Vanguard Group, Inc.
Norges Bank Investment Management
Legal & General Investment Management Limited
Acadian Asset Management
State Street Global Advisors, Inc.
Barclays Bank PLC, Wealth and Investment Management Division
BNP Paribas
If you are 100% correct 100% of the time, why is this share not higher now than when the results were released and the rosie picture you paint of future earnings was set out?
Maybe it's got something to do with the USO?
RM have pinned everything on a reduction from 5 to 6 days! That's not happening in the near future and if the Tories lose the GE,it'll not happen within the next 6 years.
Like I said ST sold the major shareholders a plan that he and the BOD can't deliver now.
Magic beans at the ready!
Tate, I see you purchased the box of magic beans that Thompson was touting to institutional shareholders! They didn't believe him but there's always some gullible private investor who'll swallow the BS lols
Tate, these changes are based on " operational efficiencies" The same operational efficiencies that have led to failing the USO and a quality of service that is seeing long standing customers leave in their droves. It doesn't matter how efficient you are, or how many t&C's are eroded, if letters and parcels aren't getting delivered then the company is in deep trouble. Just look at Tuffnells! They cut pay and t&C's when they got sold by WH Smith to an investment company, it led to a terrible service( Google pictures of their warehouses) Consequently they lost customers and were left with the ones (awkward, heavy,2 man lifts) that no one else wanted!
Goldie, yep, but some posters on here reckon that all us militant posties are milking the system. In my experience more people come to work when they should of taken sick leave in the first place. In my office one guy who was diagnosed with COVID was threatened with suspension if he came into work. It was only because his wife rang up the boss and told him that we found out! That led to 8 others going off, it was a cluster f**k.
