Dowsie, don't mention the drivers allowance I get for not actually driving.!!!!!
I tell a lie, drive for approx 25 minutes a day doing a lunch time town collection lol
Oh and the PBS/ICS allowance.
I get approx £110/month, I don't even know what it's for lol.....
Que Angry Tate any minute now.........
'Of course you’ll take it……just like all the other two faced Union whingers will. Bonuses are unacceptable when it’s the directors or managers yet there all snatching at the carrot when its dangled in front of them. Lol.
Not so worried about company finances when the shoes on the other foot…..'
You do seem a little upset mate.
Surely you don't begrudge us 'lazy, workshy, militants' a few bob to spend on breakfast and a beer at our local spoons, whilst out on delivery do you???
Oh, other good news today, our start times are going forward by a whole 15 minutes in April, when the new delivery times start.
Cheers CWU, you played a blinder. When you factor in the 19 weeks seasonal adjusted, they'll effectively be very little change for the majority of us lol.....
We were told today in our WTL that we were in line for the clear office bonus of £250. Apparently our offices failures of which there were many,
went down as 'work plan' failures. So didn't count against us. Good to see that RM is so adept at fiddling the books.
Wasn't expecting anything personally, but I'll take it, even though I've not touched a letter or parcel on delivery in months.
Snow today!!! 8 of the rural duties didn't go out.
20 yorks of parcels still in the yard when I left at 15:30. Gaffer begging for staff to come in tomorrow. Only 1 taker at the moment. All agency staff laid off yesterday!
Ach well, best laid plans of mice and men as they say.
Merry Christmas folks. Here's to 2024, whatever it may bring.
ISpy, for what it's worth.

07:54 angersharkz: I’ve just picked up a load here. 800 to 900m profit with a market cap of 4.8bn seems like it’s under valued to me.
Shares at the time were around 476.
ISpy, interesting what you say about "once over the ground".
Our branch committee said the same thing. They believe there are talks between RM and CWU over a joint statement on the future of the USO. The idea being that we go back to fully utilizing PF and that DPR will be scrapped. This they hope will relieve pressure in DOs to sort out the QofS issues, which in turn clears the ground for a reduction in the USO to 5 days with a 7 day parcel delivery. Short term it'll cost RM but they're betting that once the QofS improves, whoever is running the country in 3-4 years will be more amenable to change.

'In 2023, La Poste will continue its transformation for the good of the whole community. La Poste will remain a socially engaged group serving global trends and addressing society’s needs as it navigates the ecological, digital, regional and demographic transitions ahead.'
The group seem to be doing ok being run by Marxist, workshy layabouts!

Mikey, the UK has signed up to the Universal Postal Union as as such guarantees a minimum service level. You can always find a country that may deliver mail 3 days a week. These tend to be countries that are predominantly rural and with population centers spread about and even in built up areas they are of a relative lower density than the UK, like Norway,Sweden,Finland etc
Better comparison would be to France and Germany, where strangely enough, both still offer a 6 day service.
In my opinion if the USO gets changed and that's a big if, Royal Mail may be given dispensation to relax the USO in the more rural areas. I think if my memory serves, Spain or Italy does that, where 25% of the more rural addresses get deliveries 3 days a week. The rest go out as normal.

Broch said he knew all my old posts but then made himself look like a plank when he couldn’t find any…. Like this one Tate???

************, suggest maybe trying to find a therapist? It must be exhausting posting negativity on multiple bulletin boards all morning. Hope you get better soon.
. .as for everyone else, was a strong set of results this morning, the potential return of a dividend and improved net cash position boards well for the future, as has been previously stated by others I am hoping for around 140p on this one. Good luck to all share holders here
Tate, don't need to make an argument for the evidence, it's there for all to see by looking at which political party is in power.
Don't tell me you voted Tory Tate, lols.
Bet you've even got a stained picture of Thatcher on the wall and your bedroom carpet is littered with used Kleenex. Buuuuurgh!
Sean,
You could argue that the libertarian rightwing who believe in free market economics believe in a non democratic and in-humane form of capitalism. After all how can it be right that 9 million people die of malnutrition every year and countless tens of millions live in virtual destitution and the gap between rich and poor is growing?
Derby, I'm not sure why you would reference data that's 25 odd years out of date??
It's irrelevant what sick levels were then, the only thing important is if you believe that the agreement made between RM and the CWU addresses those issues. From the frontline I can tell you they are! Last week's absence data put up on our wall shows that our absence through sickness have dropped from around 8% to now running at around 5%. Remember RMs target is 5.5%,so all good on that front. The big issue though is recruitment and retention, that's what's killing the QofS and undermining winning and retaining new business! The new contracts aren't attractive enough IMHO.
Mikey, so what number do you see as a reduction in employees?
Oh and you do realise that job and finish was a wonderful idea dreamt up by management so hardly what you call a "Spanish practice" and was eventually done away with in 2010 in agreement with the CWU.
'If the USO was brought into the modern world and in line with most other European delivery operators there would no longer be insufficient staff.'
Mikey,
In your opinion what sort of numbers are you talking about, should be employed on the delivery side? At the moment our staffing levels can't cope with a 5 day USO let alone the 6 we should be aiming for to improve the quality of service!
