Has anyone heard anything about the £557m VAT claim that Iag has with HMRC that was paid in last years account. It’s a lot of money to have back as profit , but not heard anymore about it ?

Don’t know if anyone is interested, but looking at BA flights Heathrow to New York, they’ve been very busy for example at 9.30 this morning the remaining 12 flights were all fully booked on business class, even the next 2 economy is fully booked and rest of the week looks pretty good. Bare in mind that BA average load factor is much lower than full 🤗

Got to laugh at the Barclays broker, increased to £2.35 even though it’s £3.12 and hasn’t recommended SELL , why would you not recommend sell on a share you think is only worth £2.35 and is currently £3.12. Obviously take no notice of this broker whatsoever !!!

I wonder what the lonely Barclays broker is thinking this morning with his £2.00 forecast and sales dropping off. Yeah Iag are going to spend billions on 53 new aircraft but sales are falling 😂 don’t think so

This share is being manipulated down with hundreds of little sales at the opening. No shorts , so can only be fund managers selling small quantities to later buy millions. They only buy at certain times of the day, and I think after hours on the UT at 4.35 Let’s see if there’s any increase today after 10.45, I think that’s a fund trading time.

Thanks for info GreatGoat. Nice to know that international travel hasn’t fallen. Kind of confirms what I posted the other day that BA load factor to New York seems higher than last year’s average looking at seats available. I’m not surprised that travel from Canada has reduced !!

Because of all the media reports on visitor numbers dropping to the USA I’ve been logging on to BA website looking at availability. BA passenger load factor Q2 2024 was 85% There’s 10 flights per day to New York and I haven’t seen one that was under 90% Full. If you look at the 10 flights going out tomorrow, 7 are fully booked on the economy with just a few available on the other 3 flights, so 99% full. Premium economy, business and first class are more than 90% full with the exception of the last 2 flights of the day but I’m finding as you get nearer the departure time, these get booked.

I don’t disagree that less people are visiting America, but it’s from the likes of Canada, Mexico and Europe. I’m not seeing anything dropping from Heathrow. But 9th of May will tell !!

If you want to look at the travel stats for BA just look at Heathrow stats. March was down 7.4% with one day less because of the outage which accounts for nearly half of this. Then it took 2 days to recover, plus Easter was in March last year.

That’s the first time in a long while that Iag has risen at the close when the S&P has fallen. It has followed the S&P index falling more and rising less. Is this a sign that traders are seeing a value stock ??

I think Heathrow may announce March passenger numbers tomorrow or maybe Monday, will give us an idea if numbers are falling or not. Only trouble is, there’s the power outage plus Easter was in the March figures last year

Oil is roughly 25% down now from $75 and iags fuel last year was £6300m I know that Iag hedge most of their fuel on a rolling basis but if the price stays low then there must be a significant reduction in costs. Not easy to work out but I reckon about £500m reduction. Any thoughts anyone ?

Are they not now buying back twice as many shares now that the price is half ? A reason to continue buying if the directors believe the sp will rise.

Can someone help please, if you look at the RNS on here it is showing 4 , clicking on here shows 4 notifications. It’s showing director dealings. Is it showing 2 directors sold 25000 shares and a host of other directors buying quite a lot of shares ?? Or is it something else ?

What’s going off with all the little unknown trades, over 100,000 would normally be less than 10,000 ?

Why would buying and selling in euros make any difference The £3.01 is €3.60 it’s not any more money. The only time it would be an advantage is if the euro has strengthened since originally buying , but that’s not the case, 5 years ago the euro was around 1.15 so that makes any profit worse when you covert back to GBP ?

We know from the record passengers and cargo that the results will be good and also that future outlook for 2025 will be good in the trading statement

Heathrow has a record January, this is after the record October, November and December. So the trading will be good. Airlines pre market in America are Not falling so I just hold on or buy more 🤗

I think the recommendation is 5 euros which is £4.14 with 3.4 euros being their previous price
