It is estimated that at least 10% of consumers in the UK follow a gluten-free diet, which equates to approximately 2.9 million people aged 16-64. This number includes individuals with diagnosed coeliac disease (about 1% of the population) and those who have chosen to go gluten-free due to other reasons, such as non-coeliac gluten sensitivity.
