I feel like saying 1 more thing... Namely- referring to opinions that this company will not survive; in my opinion, this company has survived already; the balance sheet is much better than it was prior to the deal with Phoenix, it's true that not satisfactory cash has been generated by the business 'engine' but money is money and certainly in this case at this stage... Besides, EPS did improve... and also there has been a significant amount of irregular expences before the operating income which actually improved... That's why among other things, in my opinion there is no question about it that this stock is now 'buy'... the only thing is to pick the best timing...

The fact that the directors are not buying doesn't bother me ... We know that this is not the only indicator ... I would not worry... not till I see the next annual report that should prove to be bad ... Unfortunatelly, this will be issued in a year!

Much like I guessed a few days ago... I'd say if the sp was where it should be indeed regarding that period... then it doesn't change the fact that it still seems too low... if thinking of not too distant future from now on

... my short version would be 'weak buy' ...

So far, any logic hasn't been translated into the stock price ... therefore, in my opinion, there is another logic here; speculation ... or maybe manipulation; maybe just someone is waiting till a sufficient number of shares has been sold by private investors ... ... ... Having said that, I would not be surprised by another disappointment in a few days ... But I also truly believe that the end of bad news can not be too far ... be it this year or another

Following the recent news and the movments in the sp... it can be assumed that it could go up... in theory...

Thanks for your comment, Pearls... and maybe some little twitch will turn out on this 'one-month-long straight line' next week... In this one, a tiny 'shopping' I made again...

When I watch the SP of companies that have never made a profit, how their prices explode ... and often they go down afterwards, it occured to me that if it were a company of that caliber... then after the deal with Phoenix, the share price of SG would have risen to the present day by let's say 70%...(?)
Anyway, at least we will know something again in a month time...

Hello everyone... I wish you all good luck. Me, I bought at 10, then at 4... ish, made a little profit, bought today, too. It was founded in 1767, it IS long time... I'm asking in hope that someone has been through something like this, has some

Yep. What else should be said... Personally I ask what is it anyway that we cannot see this yearly update any earlier THIS year;( the company used to publish these reports in June if I am correct now). But a little more than 2 months now isn't too horrible to wait... I imagine that someone knows it already... Another thing, personally I think that the company's assets are of significantly more value than the share price reflects it... OK, maybe I am deluded but I cannot help thinking so... That mistake I have made buying into SG too early I can't deny but now I'm not gonna make another one by selling at this price because I regard it as an opportunity investment now... Admitting that some fall in sp still can happen (if at all) I'm gonna wait to the end. Let's see what the week will bring

I'd like to know what those trades are. I can only see that unlike others, they are not recorded by the live google chart... But I'd like to know even more how the business performed until March 31...

Patience is needed... In my opinion this is nothing less than another buying opportunity. This one is still being played man. In the last days there were more buys than sells but the sp did not go up. Today like you said, sells are not at heavy volume but M.M take this opportunity and the sp falls... And also like I said some time before, the market may want to see some good trading figures ... But I think the sp will go up before that... we will see

I am happy with that for now, I think the next stage is the Preliminary Results... Expecting some rise before that.

I've had a quick look at Phoenix' website and found out that they've been quite good for their investors... in 2010 only the share price was 2,386.37, in 2018 (28 February) - 6,295.49.... We can read there that: ... we do it by buying great businesses when they are cheap usually because they are having short term issues... One can guess that they are making another good deal... And one can hope it is good indeed for us too? Or not necessarily? Big buys have come through since 2 week time or so... Why has the share price fallen?

I have no idea if this deal will turn out good for small shareholders. Is it not coming at too high a price? The number of new shares... Nearly 60% of the company sold... giving Phoenix the right to to nominate a director to the Board... Now, in the last Interim Results we can read this: Whilst the Board has received offers of finance from both existing and new investors including an offer of equity conditional on the restructuring of the existing debt, the bank has requested that the Board explore improved financing options in the New Year in light of the administration of Guernsey and the significant reduction in contingent liabilities. As part of these discussions the Board will consider raising further equity or asset sales, however the Board is of the view that whilst alternative finance will be available it is likely to require restructuring of the current indebtedness as part of the solution. In the Circular the Board states the following: If the Proposed Transaction does not proceed, and IN THE ABSENCE OF ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS, the Group would not have the funding it needs to meet its obligations under the RBS Debt Facility Agreement or its trading activities.... So, it seems (to me) that it is not the first time that some things change too quick... ???
