Ultimately it's because there is higher demand than supply. I suspect it's the "this is money" article that others shared from yesterday - seems to be getting published / referenced on a number of other websites now (twitter, daily mail, etc)... This will attract the odd random punter with a few £k to spare and keen to double their money in the short-term I would imagine
The "Corporate update" could be 'nothing' (e.g. we have hired a new HR Director, or have decided to refurbish our offices in a nice new shade of pastel blue), or it could be 'everything' (e.g. we have signed a long-term sales agreement with Tesla / Apple, or have completed financing deal at an average of 25 p per share), or of course it could be anything inbetween...! Either way, interesting times ahead with this corporate update and then an AGM 2 weeks later, and the end of H1 Financing announcement at worst only 5-6 weeks after that.... Hold on to your hats people, it's bound to be a bumpy ride
I would happily settle for half that at 20p this year... some of my holding anyway - my SIPP I will hang on to for another few years to hopefully hit the sweet spot of production vs nickel price vs demand for EVs
Depends on your interpretation of "some time".... as Wasa has said, a number of us have been here for many years, so a few more months is nothing.... I for one am fully expecting HZM share price to double from today's level at some point during 2021.... 3-8 more months is relatively short-term for me having been invested for 10 years+
I said back in January I would have more funds coming in March and was hoping the price would still be fluctuating between 6.5 and 8.5p by that point, and either way I was happy to buy more at anything below 10p.... Ok, so it has in fact fluctuated between about 7-10p in that period, and there was an element of good fortune for my prediction with the funding raised at 7.5p which none of us had foreseen, BUT, either way, I was very happy to top up this morning at 7.1p. For me, fundamentals here haven't changed.... Key fundamentals I hang my hat off are as follows :
- we have an awful lot of good quality nickel in the ground! Definitely top 10 in the world
- the recent RNS confirmed that financing will be completed in the next few weeks which is surely the next major milestone and likely to bring us more (social) media attention and interest which is slowly starting to build
- In mining terms, we are not far away from actually producing
- Nickel is in huge demand and we know that demand is going to increase
- The spot price of nickel today, last week or next week doesn't concern me - it's a finite commodity, and we know demand through EVs (and stainless steel etc) will mean that the price will go up significantly over the medium to long term
Absolute no-brainer at these prices in my personal opinion
Here's to hoping the bulk of the financing agreement is more generous from a shareholder perspective, and brings the interest and investment our asset clearly deserves - in the meantime I am happy we are still somewhat under the radar and prices are low - still time to get in before the ISA deadline too
Happy Friday and Good luck all
To be fair it's win-win either way.. if the price skyrockets before the end of March, then we are all happy and should be thankful without trying to be too greedy about the potential even higher gains we could have made..... If it does drop below the 6.5p mark it's a great opportunity to top up before the financing announcement!
I am also due some more funds in March which I was hoping to put into HZM before the ISA deadline if the price is still below around 10p.... I am guessing we will see the price bounce around between 6.5p and 8.5p until the financing announcement however. As ever, some holders will be selling out over that period... some will be profit taking, some will be forced sales for any number of reasons, not least the obvious job losses and loss of income through the new lockdown meaning they need to liquidate assets. As word spreads though, and more people start to cotton on to the link to the EV market etc and the fairly clear opportunity I think HZM presents in the near term, this should keep the price relatively stable. If the financing news does what we all think it will do, that's what will significantly move the needle on the price here during 2021. That should in turn bring us to the attention of a wider and more lucrative investor pool, and if they see what we see, the price should continue to climb more gradually thereafter - all in my opinion and just based on what I have seen across other similar shares I have tracked / dabbled in over the years
Thanks wasa - SIPP purchase was in 2011 at 9p per share... I remember it going up to about 11p within only a few months, but then the gradual fall down to the 2-4p mark..... I was dabbling with spreadbets before then however, and am estimating it was in 2010, but could have been earlier - in fact if memory serves, I first bought in at around the 28p mark, and I recall a friend (who recommended HZm to me) saying to me at the time"The price won't stay at 30 pence for long".... Unfortunately he was correct, but for all the wrong reasons as the price tanked shortly afterwards
Greetings All. I am a brand new member as of today, however have been invested in HZM since 2010, and have been checking this chat board at least once a week since then, so am very familiar with many of you long term posters, even though you have never heard from me before. Complete coincidence that I have a similar username to Baggy2 who I see also posted for the first time this week (and with a similar message.) I hold around 600k shares in a combination of SIPP and spread bets, so a relative minnow compared to some of you. I have averaged down my purchase price over the years to around 4p per share, so only recently in the blue, but I always had faith over the long term. Like Baggy, I just wanted to introduce myself, and say a thank you to all of you posters for your informative and helpful insight and analysis. Here's hoping the price continues to rise up to and beyond Financing in the next 3-6 months. Thanks again and Good luck to All. Cheers
