I don't think there is any confusion about Labour's position on nationalisation.
Water, energy, railways, and telecommunications are basic public services that should be operated in the public interest.
We are pragmatic about public ownership as long as it sits within our fiscal rules. For example, we know there is a positive role for rail in public ownership.
Labour know that these public services should be run under public ownership but realise that the country cannot currently afford to renationalise them.
