That gas cost is only high because we banned fracking, the transport and liquefaction fees with lng are huge. Use a us price for gas and yr expensive and unreliable electricity are exposed as a con. Yr industry is being protected by ppl stopping fracking.

So we have the cost of paying asimple that, and also whilst we do that gas power stations are idling whilst asimples electricity is given the concierge service. Not to mention the cost of transporting energy around the network, known as TuOS charges. Ppl then wonder why we have the highest industrial electricity costs in the world.

Asimples you can't differentiate between your current demand and yr total demand. Yes you generate electricity but not enough to satisfy period of high use. At those times you are using the grid.

The trouble with that bs is the gas is switched off when the wind blows. So we substitute one form of energy for another when it's windy but generally without considering the opportunity cost, gas station sitting idly, which is a huge cost. It doesn't actually show how the grid is managed match supply and demand. The national grid are heroes keeping this show on the rails with the insane policy of switching off gas for wind when it's windy. I'm franky amazed there aren't more blackouts with the lack of inertia in the present grid.

Asimples in totality yes but you'll still be using the grid when yr energy use is high. Electricity isn't uniformly priced, it's variable, price can spike hugely during period of peak. Since energy can't be stored well at scale this is where gas power is so useful. One of the big bears balancing he grid is ppl like you supplying in when yr inertia is low. The grid will fall over far more in future because of it.

Asimples I use to work in the industry I know far more about it than you. In fact we used to laugh at renewables because we used to trade via the forward curve it strip of the renewables credentials then sell for buttons because it was unreliable. Spare me the lecture.

Fancy that that sky high energy bill because we destroyed O & G and mindlessly stopped fracking. One of my pet peeves is the claim by MSM that there is a global gas price. There isn't there are a series of local prices dictated to by proximity to gas and shipping/liquefaction fees etc. This is why gas can cost 3 times less in the USA at times because they wisely invested in infrastructure and fracking. We are stuck carrying a low density fuel on ship from the middle east and liquefaction fees because we stupidly banned fracking.

That's a lie asimples the majority is not made by renewables. The majority is still made conventionally using gas and nuclear or imports (mostly french nuclear/Dutch coal). Gas is still the largest single source by FAR. Try yr heat pump without access to gas and nuclear in winter during an anticyclone you'd freeze death.

It will get crushed we are a net energy importer having destroyed the o & g industry and mindlessly refusing to frack. We are robbing from the poor to pay rich ppl to install heat pumps though so they can heat their home with gas generated electricicty. So all is good 😊.
