Yeah, did you see after the hurricane there were gangs of armed thugs looting, not the rich, but the poor! The place is a hideous mess. My stepfather bought some land on Grand Bahama in the 1960's, there were grand plans for a resort etc with holiday homes. Four plots to be precise. I was going to have a look at them a couple of years ago but didn't feel like being robbed, stabbed, shot at or just plain mugged. The wealthy stick to safe places like private islands and gated estates with armed guards. A bit like Jamaica where you need the army on the street to protect silly tourists who have wandered away from their secure hotels.
Hopefully, the oil will enable the government to stop these thugs and murderers even if they do it like Duterte by just shootings them so the poor Bahamians can just live safely and securely.
