Are we going to see 1250 this week before the results are announced on Thursday?
If we are, I’m diving in for one last hoorah. Increase my holdings to 4000 which would bring my average costs up to £11.40 from £11.00 currently.
The last hoorah is coming:-
“The International Energy Agency last month dashed hopes that the coronavirus may have brought an end to the world’s rising appetite for oil. It warned that demand for crude would exceed pre-Covid-19 levels within the next two years unless governments around the world take concrete action. Rising demand for oil is likely to keep prices high and bring a final injection of cash into fossil fuel companies’ coffers before production begins to fall.”
Looks like more of 2020 pessimism. Oh boy!
Totally agree with Boyobach. I'm looking to buy somemore at 1250 and then maybe at 1200 if that happens. Exit at 1500 for the extra shares ive bought at the levels and enjoy the dividend whilst waiting. Oil and Shell will have one final salvo, I'm certain of that. Its just a matter of time
Well, 1250 is definitely topping up time. But hopefully that's the bottom.
12.50 and I'm in again. Is London closed tmrow for Good Friday?
Yesterday, 1350 was breached. I wonder whether it will be 1300 today.
How fast prices move down. Definitely not for the faint hearted.
Have been considering my options. Buying 1000 shares at 1200 and then selling at 1500 (sometime this year hopefully), will reduce the average SP costs of my other 3000 shares from £11 to about £10. Earning dividends whilst it gets there. Just a thought.
Just did. Next stop 1300. However my next Top Up level is 1250. I top up in multiples of 1000 as my transaction costs is about 1.3%, with minimum brokerage of £55
Divine intervention
Having said that, I would rather see this at £15 than £10. So let’s hope it’s just a correction and not the beginning of something worse to come.
£12.50 I can stomach but I can’t imagine it going under £10 again unless there is a massive 30% crash of the stock market from the recent ATH. Anything can happen so I’m not fully invested in the market yet. If it does crash, I won’t be buying Shell as I would need to diversify a bit. Oil in my opinion will probably have one last hoorah based of increasing demand and shortage of supply. That could happen anytime in the next 2 to 5 years. Then if this green energy thing takes off, oil will be fossil. I’m betting on that last hoorah that may take Oil Prices above USD100 per barrel and RDSB above £20. But like all things except death and taxes, it’s not a given. It’s just a bet.
It probably hit £15 too fast/early. So did Brent prices at 70. The correction is therefore probably healthy. But having hit £15, it evidence that it can happen again. However, there is always a risk of it testing 12.50 again. I'll bet on it rebounding to £15 this year if it does. So I'll be buying at 12.50 for a 20% gain this year. As for the rest of my 3000 shares with the average costs of £11, I'm keeping it until it doubles in value to £22.
I just managed to get 1000 shares at 1398. It is already lower than that now but I'm happy with it. Now I don't have to bother about it anymore.
I guess the correlation bw OIl Price and Share Price makes sense.
Whilst it has breached £14 over the past 2 trading days, it has been very brief, close to opening and I missed it both. Maybe I should just put in an order for £14 before the market opens today. Then again it may even test £13.50 this week. That would only be about 5% drop from current levels. Hmmm.
I'm sticking to Shell, and will buy more at the right price. I bought Apple and Alibaba after I started buying Shell. Both are no where near my gains with Shell. I think 18 to 20 for RDSB is a possibility in the next 2 to 3 years at worst. But before that, you are right there needs to be more demand and that ain't coming yet until Covid goes away.
Lots of guesswork, up or down. I’ve set a target return based on present dividends at 4%. So I think that would work out to a SP of 3800?
If there is some sort of correction in the market, I think 400 would be a good entry point for a short term bounce back to 440 to 450, 500 mid term and 600 longer term?
Looking forward to adding at £14 next week
Missed it again
I’ve made a buy order for 1000 @ £14. With earlier profits trading RDSB, my average SP would be £11 when I get it. Maybe today, maybe next week.
