Eviking I've started a trading isa and will top up another 20k again next year after april I'll see how I go with that my plan is keep banging 20k each year for 5 years ticking divi reinvestment and see how much I can get that to thatll be roughly 100k in plus all divis plus any increase in SP in 5 years I wont try to trade it just leave it .. well that's my plan

Day/troajan I say I thought about an annuity but in reality I'll go for a flexible drawdown ie if my pot does 6% for the year then I'll take 5% the other 1% will go in management fees or so I'd only take off the pot what I'd made in the 12 months it's made...the best part a out flexible drawdown is the wife gets the pot if I die . Or so imnlead to believe

Day good advice the only trouble I have is that its putting my investment in my control and the way my investing has gone this last 12 months is shocking plus the pru have been making me 6% year on year secondly I'm worried about putting my eggs all in one basket although I will look into it ..I was doing fantastic on the dividend front now look at it.. so that's one of the reasons I'm hesitant to be in charge of my own pension fund has it's a good chunk of cash ...my plan was to let it get to my original age term and buy an annuity then I've got regular cssh coming come what may regardless of the markets ...its making the right choices

Eviking the returns are pitiful as opposed to how the markets have punished me over the last 18 months? :-))))))) I had a very nice dicing going with what I thought was sound investments BP. Great divi Gregg's great divi plus specials ..glencore great divi for my SP average which is roughly 1.24 ..I've traded it that much its probably lower than that having owning free shares at one point my timing is garbage

Eviking really ? I took it out with an end dat when I 60 but if I take it early there is a market value reduction to so called protect other investors but if I wait until I'm 60 there is a bonus to be added

Pete no I have separate pension run by the Prudential I've had it from 17 off the top of my head I can take it at 55 but I'm not doing I'll hold on.. as I dont need the money as of yet will just let it run it's been doing roughly 6%a year over last few years so I'll let it stand pete dont own ant shell just BP at the daft SP of £4.50 and a crap divi at that price
