My example is perfect showing cash burn and zero to minus asset value.

So compare this to a miner or oil company drilling a mine or well. Average stripper well now costing £700k (real money should be no more than £240k) .

You may get payback within 9 months before decline with falling asset value due to decline and probably/ most likely never had paid back investment.

The same can be said about mining . It’s always strange how said miners oli companies seem to be worth less. With their cash burn.

However increased capex (people/ hardware/ product line (platforms etc) all comes with a cost. So be i£1 or higher as an expense it’s a given to operate/develop.
