I think what they've done is show BHP that they know the company needs streamlining and it's still worth more than their second offer.They are fronting it out that they are prepared to go it alone. BHP want AAL and AAL know it. Very clever in my opinion.

As a relative newbie, does this signal that AAL wouldn't be interested in any takeover deal and would rather go it alone? TIA

I see they are going to release a detailed Investor update tomorrow on their own vision for the company. Could be good?

Shouldn't the rejection of the revised offer be in an RNS before the news reports it?

This could get tasty next week with other potential bidders discussing over the weekend . Only 19 days left for BHP to revise their bid. I don't think they will leave it to the last minute . IMO.
