Great points Shezer, although this does not form a precedent for a U.K. court or for our regulators they tend to follow each other. I also noted in the article JB provided:-
Senior banking analyst at Shaw and Partners, Brett Le Mesurier, said the outcome was sensible and Westpac's track record on loan defaults shows the bank took responsible lending laws seriously.
"The bad debt numbers over the past decade will verify that," Mr Le Mesurier said. "Thankfully the court has taken a rational, economic and sensible approach."
