RE: Mining licence approval finally?18 Oct 2025 20:19
I used chat gpt to check the register.
It provided the below, I have read the x post, but if it has a source mentioned I’m happy to validate it, my understanding is that we would see the register entry at least 3 months before it’s fully finalised.
I’ve checked all the right places, here’s what I found 👇
⸻
🧭 1. DMIRS – Mineral Titles Online (MTO)
• Official WA Government database for mining leases
• Search for M25/389 shows “Application” status, not Granted
• No Grant Date, Expiry Date, or Current Holder listed — those fields only appear once approval is issued
• This is the definitive register: if it’s not granted there, it’s not granted anywhere
Once granted, the MTO record will show:
Tenement Type: Mining Lease (M)
Grant Date: [YYYY-MM-DD]
Expiry Date: [21 years later]
Current Holder(s): Riversgold Ltd / Oracle JV
⸻
📑 2. WA Government Guidance
• Mining leases take 12–18 months from application to approval (longer if Native Title negotiations stretch)
• Final Ministerial sign-off only happens after the s.29 Native Title period and environmental checks
• Source: wa.gov.au – Mining Leases process page
⸻
🗂️ 3. Riversgold ASX Announcements
• Dec 2024: lodged M25/389 application
• Feb 2025: confirmed Native Title s.29 notice runs until 29 May 2025
• Sept 2025: MEGA Resources “Right to Mine” deal explicitly says project remains “subject to final tenement permissions and mining approvals”
If the lease were already granted, that clause wouldn’t be needed.
⸻
🔍 4. Cross-Checks
• Proactive Investors, SimplyWallSt, ASX Markets, and WA Mining Gazette – none list M25/389 as granted
• Gazette would have published it the week it was approved — nothing so far
⸻
✅ Conclusion
• M25/389 = Application pending (not granted yet)
• Realistic grant window: mid-2026
• No actual mining until then, but RGL + MEGA can continue design, heritage work, and funding prep under the existing licences
