A truly lousy market! Hopefully the house broker will do some number crunching, the result being some forecast profit, eps and divi figures.
I have been told that the ex div date is 29th July.
Thanks Edward. If they drop another 20p we will be getting about 5% divi - that’s a good turnaround!
Great that the dividend is being resumed. Do any of you guys know when / xd date? Regards
…. I was just checking that I wasn’t missing something! No worries. So what do we think LAS’s property portfolio is valued at?
Do any of you guys have a valuation figure for LAS’s property? Regards
Lemmink,
Just trying to get my head around the figures here and I’m probably wrong (!) but yesterday’s 40% stake in Bisi was worth £9.84M (40% of Bisi’s market cap). LAS has 85M shares in issue is wouldn’t this 9.84M over 85M shares equate to around 11/12 pence… I much prefer your valuation of 43p but I can’t quite see how you arrived at it… I’m a holder of Bisichi so very pleased with the results and contemplating buying.
It appears as though there has recently been a broker downgrade for Car. Stockopedia was showing a 2023 forecast EPS of 5.86 pence/share. It is now showing 3.5 pence/ share for 2023.
Surely the divi will be reinstated..? Yes/No? Many industry (power industry) experts are expecting these sky high gas prices to continue and with countries putting old mothballed Coal Fired Power Stations back into service (to reduce their use of Russia gas), coal demand is going to be higher this year and probably next year than anyone would’ve predicted 2 months ago.
With household utility bills heading towards £3000 a year, the proposed NI hike and food price rises, maybe some families will be cancelling expensive sky tv contracts etc to off set some of these bill increases…
Not too sure where to go here… On the one hand todays developments are concerning but on the other the oil price has just touched a 7 year high which means that if ENW are still producing what has been estimated they are going to be spewing out a lot of cash…
They wouldn’t Highstakes, these must surely be worth more but with Sergio and co owning most of the shares our votes may be of no consequence.
Thanks Velo, I’ll take a look later when I have time but off the cuff the buyout was announced 21st Jan so 21 days after this would be this Friday.
It’s not a done deal, which gives us some hope but I’m guessing that this situation will stop the price from rising above 75p regardless of what the company announces/ market does. For how long do we expect this situation to continue? I’m not sure of the time scales here…
My thoughts exactly. How are we in a situation where we have an event which puts a ceiling on good news! Plus, I bet they could have reintroduced a divi which would further inflate the price (under usual circumstances) Very frustrating. Does anyone think that this still may keep trading or is the 75p offer a ‘done deal’?
The £38 share price was flattered somewhat by the Brexit vote (pound to dollar) currency exchange rate in the aftermath of the vote and that price probably won’t be revisited but yes, these look cheap.
Guys
I have received a letter from the broker where my SPC shares are held (nominee account) stating that they are being moved to JP Jenkins, a matched bargain trading facility. Has anybody else had a similar letter in the last couple of days?
