Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Very true, but because of the lag in reporting we don't know if the rise in SP this week is due to those shorts closing. And we won't find that out till next week.
Seems like the market has shrugged off a trump trade war for now. All my holdings are having a blue day. Happy Friday everyone
It's because the value of something is only ever what someone is willing to pay. At the moment very few people are willing to pay anything at all. Asset values go up and down as do debt. But investors want a return on investment which is the real issue. No profit, no dividend means its a high stakes gamble rather than an investment.. I considered buying back in a few weeks ago, but with such a huge spread due to lack of interest its hard to make a worthwhile case.
You sold at a loss on this again?
It already has turned north numerous times. Long way to go to reach 700 though. Still were else can you make over 5% in two days and still think there is more to come. Have you settled on a target price to sell at?
Well that's been a better day, opportunity to top up or average down gone, but can't complain with the direction of travel.
Looks like I've missed the boat on this latest dip. I do think I'm too quick to find the next investment, just don't have the patience to hold cash for long periods. I'd be tempted to use funds as a place to hold cash for my next investment, but they do take a while to liquidate to move back into individual shares. Patience seems to be the name of the game.
People have been talking take over every time the sp drops. So far seen very little in the way of interest, I'm also not sure that taking this private is of huge interest to the current board, after all they are after a return on investment whether it is public or private. If there were a few more board deals buying percentages of the company you could summise this as the eventual outcome, but at this stage it would take a huge capital investment to buy what remains with institutions, shorters and private investors. Contracts, oil price and improved financial performance will shift this share way before any take over.
I'm fully invested across a range of stocks and they have all had a trump slump in the last month. I'd be very tempted to add more at these levels but as I've not hit targets on my other stocks it's very much a waiting game to see which will come good first. Still some confidence for this stock but I still see 700 as a more realistic return over a year than 900p. Still another dividend due soon and a decent trading update.
A good finish to the end of the week by OPEC is what we really need. This is just trailing the wider market sentiment at the moment. Very much a waiting game across all my holdings at the moment.
Still looks relatively difficult to make any money here. Sure you can buy at around 0.19p if you are after a few quids worth of shares. But any serious number of shares and the ask price is 0.20 and selling through June seems to cap the bid at around 0.21. 5% on a long shot just does not seem worth it at this stage, so going to stay outside of the AIM roulette wheel for now.
Everything I hold seems to be taking a dip at the moment. Fortunately they all pay a dividend, so just sitting and waiting for a turn around. Assuming Trump does not drive the entire market into a downward spiral.
Trump starting a trade war for no reason has not helped the wider market sentiment. I thought gold would benefit but it seems not at the moment
I have to say with spread a little narrower I'm curious about throwing some cash at this again. Insanity I know but if opec goes well this week I might see how much a dare chuck at this share.
It's been something of an interesting week for me. Made some decent money on capita, gsk and BT. Lloyds was a dog, possibly got in to early to highland gold. And PFC was well PFC. shorts up, shorts down. Oil price waiting and no significant contracts. If I'm convinced of anything it's that I'd never be able to go all in on one share. The stress would ruin me. I'm never gonna make millions but 10% a year is better than a cash isa.
Still plenty of money to be made here.
I think I bought a 83p or pretty close to it. This share is very much unloved.
True but that's always the challenge, if you wait for news then you miss out on most of the gains or most of the drop.
I'd agree most will sell as soon as they get them.
Yep hold its breath for news on oil 22nd June or some company news. i.e. Contracts
