Very encouraging, but from medrxiv website:
"Caution: Preprints are preliminary reports of work that have not been certified by peer review. They should not be relied on to guide clinical practice or health-related behavior and should not be reported in news media as established information."
"In addition, tests must have been independently validated as having a sensitivity of at least 97% and a specificity of at least 99% for at least 150 positive clinical samples and 250 negative clinical samples. Independent validation must have been conducted no more than 18 months before the test is provided by:
an independent lab which is accredited by UKAS to ISO 15189 or 17025
a scientific committee which is overseen by the Department of Health and Social Care, including the Technologies Validation Group or the Lateral Flow Device Oversight Group
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence".
Can our test comply?
...is deeply frustrating. However, AS has identified the lfd as the vehicle which will change the dynamic of Avacta. Unfortunately, whatever he advises immediately gets interpreted, often incorrectly. 'in the coming days became 'end of week', '6 days', '12 working days' etc etc, all the usual speculation with same result.......disappointment & back-biting.
So let's take 'in the coming days' for what it is, an unspecified timeline that indicates near term rather than mid/long term.
My main question is about the NDA. If there was one, but we are not, & may be never were, going to supply UK gov, why would it apply at this time.
Larsh, correct. Towards the end of my working life I was at different times a contractor or employee within the civil service. I was shocked by the general ineptitude. There were some good people/teams, but senior management was useless. Cronyism was rife, & outside the box thinking was ignored or crushed. Those with any nous were tolerated until they could be sidelined & either left or succumbed to the weight of bureaucratic incompetence.
Could go on ad infinitum, but sure many on here have views/experience.
Dan.....don't be shaken by the price action. It's all be seen before, as our chartist contributors will confirm. Your confidence should lie with your research, &, if you believe avacta is offering a truly disruptive technology. Not too long now before finding out.
Beinthelead. Think 'bad' news releases have been avoided/delayed. Avacta is (has been) a small 'cutting edge' outfit upon which sentiment & credibility have been paramount. Any announced 'failures' would have knocked these, certainly in the commercial world if not the scientific.
Most would probably have been as guarded in the same situation.
