PRESS RELEASE: Lyten Announces Plans to Build the World’s First Lithium-Sulfur Battery Gigafactory in Nevada
At full capacity, the facility near Reno, Nevada, will produce up to 10 GWh of lithium-sulfur batteries annually.
The facility will manufacture cathode active materials, lithium metal anodes and assemble lithium-sulfur cells, enabling a 100% domestically manufactured battery.
Lyten has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dermody Properties to locate the facility on land owned by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority.
The facility initially will create 200 jobs, growing to more than 1,000 jobs in the northern Nevada economy.
