I remember back in the day this share went to 4p and we were really struggling on site the prices were terrible, but it was work. To this day I don't know anything about the stock market but I knew the building trade. I told a cousin of mine I was going to put 5 k in . He changed my mind.

Then I bought at 16 p then 20p . I remember asking the wife one day could I do another 1 k . I stood on the scaffolding and rang Barclays stockbroker told him I wanted to buy more tw , the word just came out I said 5k . Best move of my life. I just knew I could see it . There was nobody better at that time to see and hear what was going on.

I see people on here saying this should be 150 ? it's not happening why should it tw have been in better positions than now and not been that price. I talk to my mates all the time on the sites and it not good out there. This price will only rise when interest rate falls and house prices come down. It's not rocket science. If the guys in the trade prices are being reviewed and coming down and the price materials stays high it's for a reason. For what its worth this price ain't moving for a few years. I'm not deramping as they call it cause I don't give **** . There's better thing to invest in right now .

I'm a bricklayer and worked on site for 30 years but had to move on to private work to save my own sanity. Most of us trades go out and break our backs every day to build these houses and now we have to put up with the site agent or two the contacts manager his assistant the bloody nhbc , so called professional snaggers, you're own brick Barron. sometimes even the forks driver and the nosey store man puts his 10 bobs worth in. You got 10 people on your case sometimes telling you 10 different things.

Back in the day I love my job (site work) .You wouldn't get me there now for £500 a day. And I'm not that over the hill

48 year old with tons of knowledge. I could actually move into an agent's position but some 21 year old with no experience is already trying to make his end of year bonus.

Also you have very few Yong blood coming into the trade because it's to hard , Probably do some office work or be a professional snagging.

when i bought into tw in 2008 i was confident things would change only because it was my life that's what i did . common sense told me britain relys on construction it's the back bone of the economy. the banks were in trouble but the government had to prop up the growth of the country. it's very different now this price will stay stagnant for a few years to come. people were buying after covid which was a bit of a surprise, it held the market up. now realisms are kicking in and sites are slowing right down. 2008 won't happen again soon because they've fire walled them selves and being very cautious with borrowing. so as for growth you'll in my opinion be waiting years . and if there is ever a boom again there's nobody to build these houses. don't want to **** on your chips guys but that how it is . also to much uncertainty now with the banks the american dollar is in real trouble. the world is in a big transition at the moment digital currency will come at some point just a matter of time.

I was invested here years ago from 10p to £210 made a god few quid. It's not for me anymore. Anyway that's my ten cents worth im retiring back to the cave we got mammoth for tea .

Don't think there is really enough work out there for deadbeats and neanderthals . The wheat got separated from the chaff years ago. Maybe the odd few slip through the net here and there. Most of them wouldn't last a week before they get found out. Most of the lads I know certainly aren't deadbeats, just fed up and undervalued, underappreciated. And like I said before with no apprentice

Guy I've been reading the trade men's post on here. And I couldn't agree more . I give the sites up 12months ago and I will never go back. Nobody cares about anyone anymore they make you feel like the muck at the bottom of their shoe. After 30years in the trade. I've had lately it with being talked down to because they want more and more out of you, with weekly changes in the rules (nhbc) they're getting worse you just can't please them all . The site managers are constantly stressed out getting it from the contracts manager who only gives a s*** about losing his bonus.

The moral on most sites is on the floor. And with all the subbies now about trying to cream it in there's just no old fashioned commutation anymore. Everyone wants a piece of the pie with no care who made it. There's not even any apprentice's on site anymore because the big firms just don't care and push it onto the subbies, and they don't give a toss as long as the cheques keep coming. In ten years when us older experienced, unappreciated guys retire or get out early before their mental health declines. Then it will bite them on the behind, they have nobody to build there house's. Cause let's face it us old school guys are kind of used to being dogged about time to time, I can't imagine this younger generation lasting a week.

If the sites were assessed like other work places they'd be a very big enquiry. It's 99 percent men so nobody really gives a s**t. I'm doing extensions amongst other things and couldn't be happier, best move I ever made . Working around all that negative energy will get to you in the end .

Hey guys I'm all for this share my though we're win win , and still are really.
I've just spoken to a subcontractor friend of mine who did have numerous gangs of brickies under him. Well rumour it redrow don't want any gangs on site except finishing gangs 1 per site to complete the houses that were left. And that they were looking towards after Christmas to start up again. Personal I think it's a grape vine talk .
I hope so , how can anybody say that not knowing how the markets going act when things loosen up.

This is a terrible virus , but it's not the same level as the walking dead! Get a grip . Positive things now coming from China. We in the UK will get over this in 12 week or even 6 months , worse case 12 months . And vacation will b here then. Then TW ship will b cruising along once again. Hi I was a brickie too and made a lot of money out of this share after the recession, and I will do this time around as this is nothing like back then. Back when the banks were really careless borrowing money to people without a care flooding the housing market with buyers so the builders supplied them at a crazy rate. The site were building out fully even without sales - having tunnel vision that all would sell. But lesson learned with building and the banks. TW could sail through this short term problem. And the rich will get richer as the price falls to a really attractive level . If u can afford it this is a no brainer.

Hi yes mate ready mix is down to the subbies ,silo is usually supplied by the house builder depending on what arangement they come to. Sadly it all comes down to profit and also with ready mix you order the day before for the next day, if it rains the next day you've got the same mortar to use by this time it's gone off (starting to cure) But you can also understand the situation of bricklayers, self-employed bricklayers paid by the brick , do we go home tell the agent the mortar has had it or earn our money knock it up and carry on. But to be fair even if we stated that the mortar is not up to it you have got the pressure of them saying joists need to go on. I've got joiners booked joists going on roofs going on . To be honest it's the nature of the trade . I think this is an issue but the problem on the BBC stating something may of happened in the plant with the mix ratio on them jobs . Maybe I don't know? Also if you go out looking for problems you're going to find them. I think we're going a bit deep now and I'll leave it there. Good luck to everyone.

Hi I'm working in n.wales for a subcontractor for a lot of the big house builders and to be fair he is ok one of the good ones. I did go on a bit then mate it's not all bad like you know yourself everybody's circumstances are different I've worked with some cracking site agents who are all all under pressure to hit targets
. I got into TW back in the recession I knew a girl who worked for TW in the offices and back then they were telling staff to buy in I got in at 16p . Very nearly jumped in at at 4p wish I did wouldn't be laying brick now.

Hey guys sorry about the ranting before kind of went on one. Really it's not always like that I guess I'm just looking at the negative side of things but your right it is the customer that suffers. I do personal pride myself on my work and try to do the best job I can as if the house was my own . But at times it is a battle with the mortar but like everything else you just do the best you can . Again silo mortar is really very good and from my own experience the houses that get built from ready mix are the last few on the job when there is no longer room for the silo .. Your going to have bad batches every now and again , not on purpose though I'd think why skimp on cement you not going to gain much in the long run the risk reward surely wouldn't pay.
Anyway guys good look with TW hope you all do well long term I sold out back when it was £2.00 lucky enough.

Yes mate I agree with what you're saying .You're right shout about it too much and they'll tell the subcontractor you're working under to tell you to stop moaning or to simply move you to another site. These big house builders are made up passing all the problems onto the main contractor. But he doesn't give a shit not really as long as they keep seeing profits , that's all there about. Firms need to cut out that middle man take builders on direct like they did back in the day. It's more personal you have more say, better rappore with the managers they might listen then . Contract managers are all arrogant wankers believe me when I say most won't even acknowledge a simple hello never mind a comment about the crap mortar we're sometimes given. If people knew how most builders on site are treated, brickies mostly they wouldn't believe it. They're all hiding behind the main subcontractor making him rich in the process.

You obviously know nothing about what goes on the sites. Bricklayers and labourers haven't mixed mortar for new builds for years, decade's even. It comes in powder form in a huge silo you press the button for the amount needed
, no waste - brilliant. And by the way CPI silo mortar is hands down the best - top of the charts when choosing mortar . I'll tell us what the problem is, its when it gets delivered to site and poured into tubs that can often stand for days especially in the winter time not being used because of bad weather. But most companies won't throw it away, no chance. No instead the bricklayers are told to knock it back up sometimes using 2 to 3 full buckets of water and nearly killing themselves in the process, very hard work! Ready mixed mortar should be banned it's crap. So donald duck get your facts in order. You can only work with what you're given.

Ah well just think what price city will be bought out for over the coming years. Is a no brainer advanced technology wanting more now! faster the better it's human nature.! We don't go backwards always competing , and GB need to catch up.
