I won’t mention a specific dealership, however, in my locality a car dealer of some size has refurbished their premises to include a few charging points. The electricity network had to be reinforced, at some cost I might add, as it couldn’t cope with that small addition. Imagine the scale of that requirement countrywide. I feel sure if there were a quarter of a million cars countrywide charging at one time the grid would melt. An electrical network designer allows 10amps per property average load. You can’t simply stick another 30 amps for each car charging through the network. Substation fuses are only rated at 400 amps. Not viable with todays networks.
