I’ve been trying to keep track of all the shenanigans with Essar and COPL and Shorecan via outside sources . I beleive Kola could have a major impact upside but I’m still not ruling out Trafigura / Rosneft involvement longer term . One thing I’m a little unclear on is the position of the OPL226 Licence . What date was this renewed or will that come after NNPC have approved change of ownership
Hamilton . Tell us more about this “Gap in the chart” I’m intrigued . Does that come before or after the steady decline , failed targets, multiple placements, Although it makes for a well rounded post - regurgitating information that many on here have been over multiple times with a microscope over the past couple of years doesn’t add anything to the overal information level . Smacks of ramping in the vacuum to me . Many on here invest based on the fundamentals and they can be interpreted in multiple ways so if you have some unique insight we are all ears . Otherwise it’s *******s . Kolas investment move could be interesting but apart from that nothing’s changed. If we start seeing large value buys in the tens of thousands or a positive RNS then something’s happening . Yes it’s negative but third hand emails which claim “Things moving forward” mean nothing . That could be as simple as Arts filled in a spreadsheet that was on his list to do . So far I’ve seen 6 ramp and dump cycles on here and feel sorry for those who have lost money . So pardon me for my scepticism . Agree do your own research , but many don’t.
Calculated Risk agree . Could be a huge Fcking gusher can’t get the cap back on as well . Ohhh Noooooo . Just my six penneth but , one of the very best old hands at BP Ian Conn , runs Centrica . Old British Gas - in that area not doing so well , decregulation etc etc etc . But he has HUGE experience in oil . Spirit owned 65% I think by Centrica. I trust Ian Conns judgement on Oil and he will have been involved in the spirit deal . It’s a gamble but the head honchos have a solid track record . Plenty out there don’t . Earlier I said 150 mill , correction 138 mill investment by Spirit .
Re Saudi . I hope they shaft Saudi , but they won’t . International community only take action if it costs them nothing . This will cost so won’t happen . Saudi is ruled with an iron fist , any action like that needs top down approval . May I suggest , they will admit , say it was rogue elements and then throw alleged rogue elements under the bus. All sorted , everyone happy, Move along everybody nothing to see here .
Agree . If this share dealing malarkey was as simple as copying what the big firms do ............. . How many get it wrong ? How many times has anyone on here seen a multi mill sale on any share and then the share price goes up . I have and calculated how much they would have gained if they had sold later . As for Neg comments re getting oil out of granite , maybe that’s why spirit is willing to throw 150 mill plus into this project , they have too much cash and nowhere to keep it . I don’t see any change in sentiment generally , all looks good , AM heading for Amsterdam , ducks in a row . Bring on q1 2019 . I’m a long term hold now.
I dont see any evidence that this RNS means it will be settled out of court . It’s a stalemate and forgive me if I’m wrong but can’t Essar just block any finance deal? Art has been pressured to issue the RNS due to COPLs dismal share price and laying the ground work for his Xmas placing . Essar and Shorecan don’t have to issue anything . They are all just sitting back and seeing who blinks first , meanwhile COPL burns through the last placement paycheck . I mentioned this months ago and was shit down. Essar have got a huge amount to gain and nothing to lose . If I were a betting man which I am as I have COPL shares I predict a letter from Essar escalating , giving due notice of court proceedings . What better way to kill off COPL therebyeb Shorecan . The argument that Essar has a crap relationship with NNPC is correct . Doesn’t stop them doing a deal with a third party to act on their behalf , read about Rosnefys / Trafigura latest relationships in Africa . Has anyone considered that Essar May beleive that Copl / Shorecan can’t actually bring this project home even with their support . Maybe Essar have seen the writing on the wall and moving in for the kill . Wtf we are all guessing but there are multiple scenarios I can think of that fit the events . As for NNPC supporting Shorecan , I doubt it . They are just saying get it sorted - not our problem til it’s resolved then call back with whoever’s in control and we will continue discussions .
Agree , nothing new apart from seems to be implying that additional funds won’t be needed as expected . Doesn’t come straight out and say that though .
IMHO this could go either way . Anyone have any dice? Arthur probably knows but he won’t tell the investors if it’s bad news until the absolute last moment . If it’s good news probably the same . In reality to him I would suggest the share price is irrelevant unless he needs to raise more money. If good news comes then it will bounce . It’s all secret squirrel negotiations. . Stocks across the world are down so why should COPL be any different . Not sure a shareholders action group will help at all . Probably just divert attention of the board away from what they should be sorting out . Couldn’t care less about Mozambique to be honest, couldn’t care less if he’s got his eye on a potential block in AnyLand it’s a padding and a distraction. It’s Essar and Agamore which are right in front of us that need to be put to bed. Short term finance and moving forward . If good news comes then if I can make my loss back I will sell and not look back . If bad news comes . Well - that’s time for many beers ,
It’s not unusual for Directors to have a low shareholding . If you look at a range of BODS , a fair few have made their money long ago and multiple boards are all about prestige and connections. It’s a signal but can be easily misread either way. I’ve seen one share dump over 3 months by 50% after a Director sold £20 mill of shares which I happen to know was for a racehorse (his passion in life) not because the company was going down hill , all the figures were are are still positive. For those who haven’t noticed stock markets worldwide are in the crapper today , Londo has been for a couple of weeks . My investments are down significantly across 15 shares . But that’s the stock market for you . Fundamentals haven’t changed for the bulk of these companies worldwide but sentiment has. Is Amazon any worse a company yesterday at 9am to today - no . Supply and demand that’s all. . Brexit isn’t helping here of course just due to uncertainty , foreign investors are derailing . I’ve just bought Prospex because it looks like a good opportunity to me, I did the figures on potential Gas profits and if it ramps to their expectations that’s a nice revenue figure. As for the trolls - couldn’t give a Crap what they post as it’s just that. Crap . I don’t make my mind on a buy or sell based on what’s written here.
Agreed. Re UKOG
I don’t post much as its easy for it to take over, but I read a lot and the same old crap keeps being posted , re- iterating old reports as new news and wild drop in SP comments when the price starts to rally under decreased risk . But what do I know ?
Not sure about the Golden cross signal at all . I suggest it may dip lower , sentiments not with Oil and Gas at the mo and this stocks trailing . I have a small holding at the mo at a loss , but may take a larger punt if it drops to my target price , and hold it long term . I want to see a reasonable flow rate .
You are quite a character Rodders, are you bipolar by any chance , just wondered? On other bbs you are asking people be banned for their comments but here you try to adopt the moral high ground on free Speech . If you really don’t like Hurricane why are you wasting your time here , surely there are plenty of other bbs where you can brag of your experience , trend analysis and profits. Your choice of course , it’s a free world.
Also Although no available data from the DPR on the renewed licenses, Daily Trust identified some of the companies whose oil licences had expired to include ——— That means they don’t have the data on whose licences were renewed , this article states those that had expired ...... At least I can differentiate between fact and fiction Or am I mistaken , where is the COPL confirmation that the licence has been renewed ?
Mannanan and Iamrich . It’s a simple question and I haven’t asked it before. Why does it upset you so much ? I do not spend the whole of my life on here , just dip in now and then and read what’s developing. I hope the shares rise exponentially I really do for all those presently out of pocket. I suggest you would be better off spending your time analysing the company rather than attacking other posters. It’s ok for people to re iterate company statements time and time again but refuse to ask the real questions . As I’ve said before , positive company news will move the share price - not what you or I may say on here . That’s just background noise you are deluded if you think otherwise .
I love this constant deramper insult that’s bandied about on here. Anyone who express s concern is a deramper . You know what , if this stock was so hot then institutions would be all over it , but they aren’t - too much risk . It’s a gamble , lottery at this point . I honestly hope for all those who have lost a ton that it’s a success and they get there money back . But I won’t big up a share to hopefully make that happen . Even if what we say here has any real effect on the price . It may do but I suggest that’s down to COPl , they can either sort this out or screw it up further . My position as if today no holdings , sold at a loss , two weeks ago made a bit back last week but not enough for a serious round of beers so Imcfown about 11k. I may get back in if Ministerial approval given but not til then . Too risky and if my comments are really putting people off from buying which I seriously doubt , then all the more cheap shares for the believers to buy before it goes stratospheric .....
