Same comment again today - a nice rise about 60p, and again the spread is very tight - spreads like this (0.16% just now) are more common with FTSE100 companies, I think.
16:13 - Good to hear that you're well.
Thanks for the BOIL info - much appreciated.
...good to see a good rise today.
The spread is very tight too, so it's not just MMs being out of sync.
We're on the leaderboard today - good to see some price action. Just imagine what will happen when we actually get some blockbuster news!
I was looking through the list of speakers and noticed this gentleman mentioned: "Mr Jerry Nichols, Senior Geophysicist Consultant."
I wondered what someone with his job title did at PANR, but when I searched for that exact line on Google, I came across someone on LinkedIn who worked at a company called Interact.
The website for that company says: "InterAct is an international project management and engineering firm specializing in oil and gas production, development, and decommissioning services."
Thinking that I might have missed some info that explained more about his involvement, I then checked the earlier RNSs from the 11th, 19th and 16/7 but he wasn't mentioned on those - he's just been added to this new RNS.
Not sure what this means, but I'm sure that this will somehow divulge more about "billions and billions of barrels of oil" that PANR are sitting on.
That sounds possible - maybe they just have some sort of target holding %age?
I think that we were all frustrated with Farallon cos of the perception that they were keeping the share price down with their structured selling routine, but they've also shown that they can take a break.
I hope that they see the logic of refraining from selling cos with time, the share price will go up, but we'll have to wait and see.
One thing that I have to say is that knowing that Mr. Spencer is on board makes it more positive for me - I didn't know about him before, but his wiki page suggests that he knows what he's doing, so an investment in PANR implies that ppl in the know are also on board. I'd imagine that ppl like him would have connections too who might be swayed to invest when the time is right.
I don't know much about the fella, so I had to do a search to understand why a spread bet might be poignant for him :
"In 1997, Spencer purchased a controlling interest in spread betting firm City Index Group, acquiring his stake from the firm's founders. City Index was later sold for $118m to financial services company GAIN Capital, netting Spencer more than $80m.[19]"
Don't really know, but thought I'd throw in my 2p worth.
On the whole, it looks like he's increased his exposure, (and, considering we might have expected a different kind of RNS from another large stakeholder) that can be viewed positively.
It seems to suggest that the increase in exposure is via a spreadbet, which I'm not so familiar with, especially for RNS's.
I'm not too fussed at the moment though - we know that we're sitting on billions of barrels of oil. We've just got to wait until the right news comes along and the share price will shift upwards.
Haha - We're going to the moon!
Come on, we knew it, didn't we?
We knew that at some point that those billions and billions of barrels in the ground will translate into a much higher share price.
However, it's worth new investors realising that there should be a long, long, way to go.
Independent analysts think estimated that the share price would be much higher than even this, and that was BEFORE today's announcement of even MORE barrels of oil and more confidence about the estimates of them.
Enjoy the journey, and do consider joining us for the ride.
17:21 - no worries, man, I get what you mean.
With the billions and billions of barrels of oil that we have in the ground, WHO KNOWS what our market cap will eventually be - the important thing to know is that it should be many multiples vs what it is now.
I was invested in our neighbours at first, but then I saw that one of their RNSs made reference to PANR, and so I took a quick look here. I decided that PANR was a less risky investment, and invested in both too.
wrt PANR having the more sophisticated investor, I agree with that to a certain extent - I'd imagine that many are like us - invested in both, but there are probably a significant proportion of less experienced investors who have invested in them because they heard about them from social media, and who have also perhaps chosen them over us because of their lower share price. I've read posts on St0cktw1ts and R3dd1t, for example, where people say that it's better to invest in our neighbours simply because their share price is lower than ours, which means that there's a higher chance of the share price over there multibagging cos there's much more room to manoeuvre - total b0ll0cks, of course, but those opinions are probably borne from being less experienced with investing and not understanding things like market cap etc. (and based on the posts on this topic, probably explains a few things). The coverage of our neighbours on social media is incredible, and if our social media buzz was similar, then I reckon that our share price would be much higher than it is now. However, the drawback to that would be that it would be much more volatile too - a vicious cycle from attracting the traders and those greener investors who are happy with getting enough for a few beers for the week.
Anyway, we've had a nice 5% or so rise compared to last week, so our share price has been steadily going up these last few weeks.
SO - PANR doesn't have volatile share price movements - it will just keep going up - especially when everyone hears about the billions and billions of barrels of oil that we have in the ground!
Just figured I'd add a post to stir some activity!
Anyway, it's been a week since I mentioned that we broke 50p, and it's good to see that it hasn't gone down to a lower level.
Again, just thinking that perhaps people are waking up to the fact that this share is very cheap for these prices, and that PANR have billions and billions of barrels of oil in the ground. FORD707 mentions the number of barrels other companies have and their Market Cap.
Well, PANR have those (quoted from directors of this company) billions and billions of barrels of oil, but the current market cap is less than £350M.
What will happen to the share price and market cap when other people find out about this?
It's gonna rocket, that's what!
Different people have different strategies, some want to take profits and potentially buy back in at a later date, while some just HODL.
Personally, I'm just happy to wait for this to rocket!
I think that this should be discussed a bit more....
A lot of us attribute our recent low share price to Farallon selling, and as you pointed out, it had been done at a low price compared to where we are now.
I wonder if they have shareholders or other stakeholders who'd be very p155ed off with their recent sells, because you could argue that selling at a low price was going against, for eg, the professional opinion of analysts who'd said that the share price targets were way higher.
Was just wondering if such sentiment at Farallon could delay/postpone/cancel any plans that they had for selling more in the future, thus allowing the share price to move without this large constraint.
typo in previous message - I meant "a way to interpret this..."
Based on your comment, I'm guessing that you got in over the last couple of months to almost double your investment.
I was in a few months before that, so not quite doubled yet - and I suspect that a large proportion of us are in a similar boat.
However, what that means is that those of us who have held for longer aren't just selling when they see that the investment has gone blue.
A was to interpret this is that we all know what a great prospect this is, and we're holding on cos we think that this is going to fly waaay higher than now.
The SP seems to be reaching highs that I've not seen.
Based on the "billions and billions of barrels of oil" that PANR have though, this is still a very cheap price.
As mentioned by the bosses on an interview recently this is "a gift."
Hi - yes, I agree that you can trace the ppl who are writing the messages.
I think someone else subsequently pointed out that the defamation can apply cos ppl were accusing the board members of committing XYZ, which wasn't what I was thinking about originally.
I had originally thought that defamation couldn't work cos the situation that I was thinking about was this:
Person A : Person B, you're a total fockwit (cos of course, this starts as something emotive), and you need to be called out for being a fraud and a liar.
Person B : Right, I'm gonna take you to court, cos I'm actually someone whose reputation is important to my capacity to earn a living, and your accusations have defamed me.
Person A : WTF??? I don't even know who you are, and how is your reputation going to be damaged when no one else knows who you are?
Person B : Erm, oh yeah, right.
