Evening RK...
1) A strange feeling of destiny when I looked at the word 'Vanadium' somewhere on this site. I liked the sound of it, ringing like a bell in my mind...so had an quick look at its name/meaning/uses etc (always been keen on mythology, so liked the Norse goddess link...not in itself a sound investment rationale, for anyone thinking of buying any divinity-related stocks…)
2) This Board. Had initially dismissed any interest, as had read that it was an abundant element, not a rare earth type, as I'd assumed. But reading this board and TBP made me realise that that may be a rather good thing, if someone needed lots of it and you had a large, high grade source or two to hand...
3) The Board. Further down the line, I went 'all in' as the BMN Board...wait for it...actually did what they said they would. Never in my AIM dabblings had that ever happened before...
So, three steps to what may turn out to be long term investment heaven...so my thanks to your good self, and 'the Others' for all the tireless time and effort in helping like-minded people understand and have confidence in this opportunity.
PS. Just read Alfa's reply, and now feel a little unworthy...!
Apologies in advance for long reply, and again, I'm no expert…but I would argue a chunk of the market has...so the PIs who are sitting on a fair proportion of the company between them, buying in early in the story and awaiting development, taking the higher risk along with the potential reward.
If you actually mean, why isn’t the SP higher, reflecting what many believe is the fair valuation, that could be a number of reasons, the obvious one being lack of current significant buying pressure, allowing as seen so often on AIM, the price to fall on small volumes.
As to then why buying pressure isn’t higher, that again has multiple angles, from risk appetite of larger institutions, lack of understanding of the company’s wider story/business model beyond high Vanadium price = good, low = bad, deliberate attempts to lower the price in a low volume market by selling and/or shorting, PIs waiting to get the very best price of a cycle, investors waiting until their specific targets have been delivered (Vanchem purchase driving revenue/reducing risk, Mokopane license adding massive scale/opportunity, electrolyte production beginning, first battery order), etc, etc…and yes, some may even be waiting for dividends; although I would say they would only represent a small part of the whole, and are presumably the most risk-averse, as they are waiting for the end game, rather than the growth story. Ultimately, all these investors will be swayed by continued solid delivery of profit...and it certainly looks like we are well into our second year of doing just that, and all being well, will deliver considerably more in time - and I expect the SP to reflect that over the longer term, under- or over-shooting along the way.
Again, just my novice viewpoint, and more than happy to hear a counter argument as to why dividends alone are the be all and end all. And by all means, wait to buy in once the company is distributing dividends, and the SP reflects that...
Excuse my obvious ignorance...how are dividends the 'clear proof of the profits' the market wishes to see? Surely 'profit' is the profit the market is looking for? Dividends are a function of profit (ie if you have profits, you can pay a dividend, if you are not allocating that profit to further growth plans, as agreed by the Board and its shareholders), not the sole indicator of profit in their own right...dividends come traditionally from mature companies, after their growth phase, and investors buy into them largely on the stable basis. Aim generally, and BMN specifically are surely growth businesses, in expansion phase...if you're looking for divis right now, try the FTSE...
But stand to be corrected, as just my view.
Cheers Pdub...I rarely comment as I can't improve on the factual notes others put together; but I take massive exception to people bashing others who have taken time, effort and consideration to support other investors with access to genuine information, understanding and viewpoints, and adding nothing themselves. I, as others here, are shareholders in Bushveld in the truest sense; we own part of a fantastic company in an exciting, development commodity, lead by an excellent management board that has clearly stated long-term ambitions and concrete plans, which it is so far delivering on very well. Happy to consider true risks, that's investing; but these hapless attempts to talk the company down with childish, scary baseless comments is embarrassing and pathetic.
Right, that's off my chest - I'll go quiet for another six months, much to everyone's relief I suspect!
And perhaps he could avoid people spouting generalities...? Positive or negative, a comment is simply a comment unless it is backed up by verifiable facts or data...which is perhaps why it may be unfair to categorise many of the 'rampers' on this board as such; in the past couple of years of reading, I have found very few of the 'regulars' have made unsubstantiated comments, other than in good humour or exasperation at unfounded negativity. This could not be said of those categorised 'trolls'...easily recognisable by their total lack of supporting facts or willingness to debate the company's merits (apart from relentless commentary on the one-dimensional single aspect of the company, it's current SP...).
Just thinking out loud...
Hi Faramog - would you mind upping me to 1,300,000...not new buys sadly, but had forgotten to add my Sipp ones to the total a while back. Thanks in advance.
JTinv or something like that from memory...remember trying to look at their ‘other shares’...
If I am reading the openly available numbers correctly, as it stands at the moment, I think Ferrovanadium is up about 2% YTD YoY...and over the past 12 months to May vs 12 months to May 18, the price is c+70%.
Are those what you call 'so bad'? While none of us can see the future (although, experts like Terry Perles presumably are better placed than non-experts like yourself?), I'm pretty comfortable with the present 2018/19 performance... but please correct me if those stats look incorrect to you?
Hi all; has anyone got a view on how long its likely for the published results to start filtering through onto various platforms - so at the moment, LSE shows 2017 FY under its Fundamentals section...when might this update to show our bright new shiny results..? May help to start realising our potential once hard numbers are easily accessible...?
BTW; well done to Fortune and the Board, and to the LTHs on here...whatever happens today or short term with SP, and despite traders', MM's and Shorters' best efforts, I look forward to being involved with the company for many years to come.

Hopefully one of the best promotional pieces for the use of VRFBs, will be the use of VRFBs...if things turn out BMN's way with Eskom, hopefully we can illustrate rather nicely just how good the technology is as a case study...
Maybe I err on the pessimistic side, but for me, I'd be happy for VRFBs to simply take off in SA, with us supplying...if the rest of the world then takes the hint great, but for now global domination can wait! That said, be great to see Vanadium getting more visibility/airtime meantime...
JMC69 - not embarrassing at all! I'd say BMN is a valuable learning tool in so many ways; my eldest has had an early education in the uses of Vanadium, future global energy supplies, supply and demand dynamics and the nature of share trading (and specifically the pitfalls of AIM...). Ah BMN; developing your wealth and knowledge, the gift that just keeps giving...! PS He's only 8, so not sure what he's taken in...but never too young to start...
BBN; sorry for slow reply, was on the road. Very informative and thorough post (as usual!), and very much appreciated. RichKen - thanks for the welcome. I was definitely coming from the ‘lack of locally sourced competitors’ angle, making our offering look increasingly good to fit the battery bill. If we do have our own lithium deposits, it says it all that it is so far down the long list of positives we have! Thanks again both.
Never really post (nothing to add beyond everyone else's high levels of research!) but a decent-sized holder since early last year...I just had a (very) quick google, and SA doesn't seem to feature as a major Lithium producer...as far as this knowledgeable board is aware, are there even any (current or up-coming) major producers of locally-sourced Lithium to compete with our local Vanadium offering? Sorry in advance if I've missed any obvious ones!
For your records Alfa, just took 14,678 of those at 40.88...
I think I speak for a lot of others when I say a big 'yes please', with genuine thanks - the Bushveld Perspective is an incredible resource to have generally, but your trading analysis helps stiffen the backbone when the market patterns change, and knowing why the market is acting the way it is is to me at least, as valuable as understanding the company fundamentals. Keep up the great work Alfa, if you can continue to spare the huge amounts of time!
To quote Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; "You could choke a dozen donkeys on that! And you're haggling over [2p]? What do you do when you're not buying [BMN shares], Nick, finance revolutions?" With some slight paraphrasing...
