I’m knew here and absolutely no expert but having researched Brian Menell I think it will be interesting to see what plans he has for the funding he hopes to secure from the US shortly. TechMet have a binding deal with Rainbow. The asset is there and it’s valuable particularly if separated but it’s a matter of getting it out of the ground economically and ethically which requires funds

The interesting thing about the Lind finance deal is that they are prohibited from shorting - it’s the shorting that causes the spiral. The stock is so illiquid I can’t see how they can get decent money out without there being more activity and a higher share price - interesting indeed

Not worried about Lind, particularly as they can’t short here - I note that Lind have options at 5.28p

As this is so illiquid it’s very difficult to sell any volume into a rise

I’ve taken a position here as I believe this has legs over the longer term - the timing is right with the US keen to break China’s hold over REE’s - see the John McCain defence authorisation act which prevents the US department of dollars evened from acquiring rare earth magnets etc from China, Russia, Iran and North Korea dovetailing into this is China’s stance on reducing rare earth production to only allow enough supply for China’s domestic buyers - this is unnerving global manufacturers and the US military is worried about China’s dominance in the rare earth market and is calling it a “significant and growing risk” hence they are now looking for alternate sources which is where OPIC comes in

TechMet are in discussions with US agency OPIC to secure additional funding $+ mm and I expect some of that to come to Rainbow to increase production as well as escalate the separation process - Rainbow are a good company with the highest grades; they have become a producer in record time they just need to get more pits opened and more ore out of the ground

Once they can separate the concentrate revenues will soar - TechMet are key to this

If OPIC provide ++$mm funding to TechMet as reported I assume that some of this will head to Rainbow in one form or another to enable greater production and exploration moving forward. The geography of the 28 sites facilitate positive economies of scale too

Interesting to see how Murambi is performing as should be fully ramped up by June with two further pits planned this year. Break even targeted this year

May possibly be a slow burner but it’s a key global market with limited players outside of China

US military to provide a supply channel for REE’s. The John McCain act created last year by Trump prevents the purchase of REE’s from China who are the worlds primary supplier, this act dovetails nicely into the fact that China are now also limiting the export of REE’s as they recently cut production quotas and will now produce just enough for their own use - all about control

TechMet are working with Rainbow with the aim to process and separate the ore so that it can be directly sold as individual entities. Currently the unprocessed ore is sold at a 70% discount so a huge uplift could be gained

My guess is also a sell given that the sp is down 4.59% as we approach close of play

There is concern in the US about the growing control China wields over access to many of the raw materials, such as lithium and cobalt, needed.

In August 2018, we were pleased to announce the signing of a co-operation agreement with TechMet Limited ('TechMet'), which will accelerate our work towards developing the capability of further processing our concentrate, in order to capture more of the downstream value. Under the terms of this agreement, TechMet will lead the work to complete a Definitive Feasibility Study ('DFS') for a separation process, which is intended to be owned as a Joint Venture between the two companies.
