Tut tut Tommy! There is a big audience for chav tv. I adore Keith Lemon. The Keith and Paddy picture show is pure genius. Even utter garbage like Kyle can be tweaked for pay tv. Jezza celebrity special???? One Charles Windsor and that Hewitt fellow settle it once and for all in a 2 hour special titled "Who's the Daddy". Dna tests and stories as to how the Princess of Hearts was swimming with the sperm of multiple donors. Even Phil the Greek can be wheeled out to reveal he has fathered an additional 8 children outside his marriage. Jeremy can criticise Phil for not having a proper job and tell him to "step up".
Well at least you and I were in agreement for the last few weeks about the real threat to ITV posed by streaming services. Some of the less enlightened posters here were in denial. Rubbishing news of Netflix's growth. I am pretty positive about this response. Carolyn took on Ryanair and quadrupled the share price. She can take on Netflix and Disney with services tailored to UK audiences and give the American pretenders a solid British thrashing. ITV is the most loved Broadcaster in Blighty. She will deliver billions in additional revenue. We might even get the Champions League back but on a pay per view basis.
The great leader in British industry is going to create a UK based steaming service that will force Netflix and amazon out of UK markets!!! Eventually even Sky and Virgin will air their dramas on one single streaming service.
Biggest story in months: https://www.theguardian.com/film/2018/may/07/bbc-itv-and-channel-4-in-talks-to-create-uk-streaming-service-combat-netflix-amazon
Thursday's results are everything. A key indicator of ITV's future direction... Now it will not have escaped your notice that for the past 12 months ITV share price has been in freefall..... During that time individuals have made wild predictions that the price will recover and to keep on buying.... If the recovery fails to materialise this week (anything close to a 5% rise) then those individuals who have been shamelessly touting this share for over a year should do the honourable thing and fall on their swords. If they have any personal integrity they should go silent on these boards and leave the commentary and analysis to the more able. It is time for the clique to do the right thing. Show that they can be Mensch and admit their own failings.
Joey Essex is on Celebrity Juice tonight. ITV 10pm. Birthday Special. 100x better than Clarkson on Millionaire. I am on the Eurostar. Long weekend in Paris with my kids (high brow cultural stuff and only speaking in French all weekend). See you all Tuesday! ATB GL, positive vibes to all at Team ITV!
3 days of full trading left before Q1 announcement. You would have thought some more people would pile in for next Thursdays gamble. Can Carolyn live up to her reputation? ITV share price to quadruple as she did with Easyjet.
Davie play nicely. I cashed in a small percentage of my RDSB holdings to fund the purchase. It means I miss out on the Q1 divi there but I figure 26.00 is as high as they will go for now unless there is war between Saudi and Iran. I got the best price at Shell, buying in here cheap cheap.
A bit late this morning, but I predict good things today. The results are a week away and ITV now looks like a good quick gamble. 10%+ gains after May 10th and a 5% rise before. We are going back up to the 160s by Q1. 180s after that. I am topping up with an extra 100,000 shares this morning.
Nothing is stopping them. They just look at ITV and see old media. They cannot generate the kind of profits they would want from the current business. If there was to be a takeover it would have happened before now. Pretty clear. Nobody wants ITV.
Tommy has zeroed in on the most distinctive feature of the chat here. So much is confirmation bias. People only posting positive news and cheering the small rises. We need more analysis of the threats to ITVs position and its weaknesses to get a balanced picture.
Another day. Another fresh start for all. Back to the business at hand. ITV. I predict an open at 155. Closing around 157. If the price goes above 160 then I am selling a tranche of shares that I bought most recently at 142. I am then in profit!!!
You know as well as I do TomE that those analyst ratings have been stupidly high for yonks. Even when the share price was at 2.20 they were recommending buy. TomE is back to ramping again...... Anybody new to the forum take note.
