I am another one who was impressed. Way way better than any horse racing programmes that have gone before. Particularly loved the AD breaks. If only the doomsayers on here could have seen those. Betting companies fighting to get noticed on a medium that will reach far bigger audiences than any online media. I only wish ITV1 did more live sport.
Terrible terrible day yesterday. Worst performance of any FTSE listed company. Will it continue today? After topping the fallers leaderboard yesterday, TW must have piqued the interest of many a shorter. GLA, ATB. Hasta la victoria siempre (onwards to victory).
Hardly a surprise. Taylor Wimpey today claimed its rightful place as the single worst stock on the FTSE 100 wiping off 100s of millions in a single day...... Start of a long term trend? GLA. ATB. BOL
Trouble thank you for showing an interest in me. With everything I do in my life I try to be Mensch. I want the employees of companies to benefit as much as shareholders from good results. I detest the boards who hold down remuneration packages for employees whilst paying out record dividends to please shareholders greed. Shareholders who have no interest in what a company does but just want to cash in on others work. Parasites. I work for the NHS. I have a solid moral compass.
TW set to be the biggest faller on the FTSE. Where the share price ends nobody knows but you can bet that the fair weather friends (special dividend chasers) all have their limit orders set and are poised to sell. This is what happens when you payout large sums. You attract the greedy investors who care nothing for long term growth. Thankfully the new CEO at ITV ditched this policy. So for today TW will earn it's rightful title. Worst single share on the FTSE. To close below 180. GLA ATB. The divi chasers will all be selling only to buy back and hoping to capitalise on the decent investors losses.
Films and programmes about CHAVS. Curious as to why they would want it. They must be trying to stop other competitors from moving in. Looking to create a future subscription platform and to move the existing free channels over to it to boost the numbers of us who will sign up. I will watch 5 if they have a half way decent history programme. That is about it.
It is all Italy on the business news today. The Italians will get their debt refinanced today and the markets may go calm again and the crisis may be kicked a few months into the future. ITV to possibly recover 1-2% for now. Long term outlook is looking not so rosy.Eurozone crisis to drag on over the summer meaning FTSE will take a downward trend.
Me too. I have hardly looked at the share price all day. I have a full time career and property investments and do not need to go around chasing dividends and trying to scrape an extra percent here and there. I have a life. I am the Alpha male and that is without even trying.
Turbulent markets in Europe. A crisis looms and the EU have been unable to put an end to the real threat of nations leaving the Euro. Will this just be an Italian crisis or will it become a southern European crisis. This has the potential to hit the FTSE today. People seem spooked.
I am hoping for great things. A rise of 5-10% by the 31st. Hopefully even a bid. It would be nice to see all of us genuine holders who stay loyal (rather than showing up just for dividends) rewarded with some good fortune at long last. ATB GLA :-))))))
Graham go back 10 years. TW was on the point of collapse. It's debt had junk status. For most of the last decade it has struggled to go back to 1.00. You really want to argue this is worth 2.00. You people have short memories. We have an economic recovery built on smoke and mirrors. By encouraging speculators to move in on property Osbourne and Cameron pulled off the illusion of a recovery. When investors realise it is all a Potemkin facade they will flee. I would never touch construction companies and I say that as the son of a large property developer. It is the Big Short all over again and people will get burnt here.
Tommy Tommy Tommy. You are watching repeats of Kyle when elsewhere ITV has live coverage of the French Open? You know ITV attach target audiences to their shows on their website. For instance Vanity Fair is "female upmarket". The Tennis will be very high class! And there you are watching Kyle. Never held down a job/ no disposable income. The sad thing is one of my memories at ITV was wall to wall TV screens piping live ITV one images into the office all day. We used to joke that you could tell the time of day or how late you were depending on where they were in the Kyle episode. Metrosexual Londoners everywhere in the offices at Grays Inn road and they force fed us Kyle. The absolute low was reading the Kyle episode where a young woman had invited a father and son on to the show as she was unsure as to which of them was her baby's father. I still have nightmares to this day
Johny I know that was directed at Tommy but there was really the need to be that condescending? But I agree. I tend to avoid new tech companies. The next big things. Oil, Pharma, Banking, insurance, supermarkets and old media for me. I started to get nervous when I was holding SKY and they stopped releasing the churn figures of new subscribers vs. leavers. It looked like they were paying over the odds for football and viewers were switching off. My worries with ITV are small by comparison.
ITV are doing just that Tommy. I posted an article a few weeks back. BBC, ITV, NBC. The big old free to air broadcasters are getting together to create a global streaming service. If they get all the other traditional broadcasters on side then they will control the market with far more content than anyone else. No more need for vpn. You can watch shows live as they air in the US and overseas people can watch drama like Downton as it airs for the first time on UK tv. I would be more worried about where Netflix will be in 10 years time. ITV will still be here but having undergone a complete revolution.
