Stephen Gunnion discusses Greatland Gold's strategic advances with the junior's managing director Shaun Day.
SG: Shaun, thanks for joining us. Can we start with the recent shift in your joint venture partnership at Havieron from Newcrest Mining to Newmont Mining? How significant is this change for the project?
SD: We're extremely excited about the new partnership with Newmont. They are the world's largest gold miner, bringing a wealth of expertise and capacity to the Havieron project.
This change, which happened in mid-November, has already started to positively impact our operations. Newmont's expertise, particularly in large-scale underground mining operations, is a great asset as we advance with our feasibility study and optimization efforts throughout 2024
SG: Moving on to the Havieron project itself, can you update us on the current status, especially regarding the depressurization and dewatering efforts?
SD: Of course, Stephen. Our primary focus at Havieron right now is on the depressurization and dewatering of the lower-contained aquifer.
We've successfully drilled six boreholes and are actively extracting water to the surface. This step is crucial for both data collection related to water management and ensuring safe access to the ore body. It's a critical phase before we reach the ore body, and we're approaching it with the highest level of precision and care.
SG: That sounds like significant progress. Could you also shed some light on the updated mineral resource estimate for Havieron?
SD: Absolutely. The updated mineral resource estimate has been a major highlight for us, showing a remarkable growth of 29% to 8.4 million ounces. This consistent growth is a testament to our team's hard work. The indicated category, which can be converted into reserves, has grown by over 30%.
Additionally, over 70% of the additional ounces are in the deeper sections of the ore body, now reaching down to 1000 vertical meters. This further underscores the continuity and quality of the deposit.
Peter Wexler
As Schneider Electric’s Chief Legal Officer, Peter managed the company’s legal, risk management and compliance matters across the globe and directed a team of over 300 professionals in 32 countries. He was also responsible for overseeing numerous complex deals around the world, negotiating, structuring, and closing over 130 transactions, earning him the accolades of M&A Advisors Top Business Development Professionals of the Year in 2020, and one of the Financial Times Top 20 General Counsels in the World in 2022.
With an optimistic gold outlook for 2024, and a seasoned professional like Wexler at the legal helm, it would be unsurprising to see Newmont consolidate the sector even further in the near future.

Greatland Managing Director, Shaun Day, commented: "Havieron is an outstanding orebody which has been developed on an expedited basis in parallel with finalisation of the Feasibility Study. Through this approach production can be brought forward to enhance the value of the asset. At the same time it is essential that we continue to set the project up for long-term success by optimising and de-risking the current development phase, while maintaining an accelerated pathway to production."
Hopefully the temporary pause in decline development is over and as SD says "Havieron is an outstanding orebody which has been developed on an expedited basis in parallel with finalisation of the Feasibility Study. Through this approach production can be brought forward to enhance the value of the asset. At the same time it is essential that we continue to set the project up for long-term success by optimising and de-risking the current development phase, while maintaining an accelerated pathway to production."

Okay. Thank you very much. Let’s switch the focus to our own board for a moment. Are they happy to have got this delivered to market and has it met their expectations?
00:12:40 Shaun
Yeah. The answer to both those questions is yes. It’s been a real focus for us to get it out. It’s a really significant undertaking. taking and then we double up on that with the the peer review with the independent expert review you know it’s it’s really good to have achieved it and i think in terms of the outcome i to my mind this is at the high end of the of of the outcome range you know to to continue an ore body that post six and a half million ounces continues to grow at the same rate is phenomenal. We should celebrate that. So absolutely, it meets and exceeds expectations.
Merry Christmas one and all.

10 holes completed for a total of 3,241 metres drilled at Scallywag 25 July 2023
20 weeks or 5 months for assays seems to be a ridiculous amount of time
Greatland has completed drilling on its 100% owned Scallywag tenement. A total of 10 holes were completed for a total of 3,241 metres drilled, targeting conductors from ground electromagnetic (EM) surveys. Five of these have been surveyed for nearby conductors with downhole EM. The holes are currently being processed and assays will be reported when available in a future release. Downhole EM at the Ramses target was not completed as the drill hole was not structurally accessible.
