I think Mr Market looks beyond simple ratios in the accounts, what I suspect that he is asking is, are they really likely to realise book value of assets if put up for sale.

Given the bear market in propco's I also suspect that he knows the answer.

At these levels they have almost become option money.

Perhaps because so many people have heard it all before from this board ?

There appears to have been persistent buying all day today, though nothing like the volumes of yesterday.

Abnormally high volume today, about 1% of the free float so far and it seems to be edging the SP up a little.

PMI must surely be in the mix and as you have correctly pointed out there is no allowance for this possibility in the share price, (yet!).

2 differing views, that is what makes a market.

I don't personally see much AUM withdrawn, most of the reduction is the fall in value of assets this period.

What I see, hopefully not through rose tinted spectacles, is a well thought of fund manager, most of whose senior people seemingly with a lot of skin in the game, good performance against their indeces in a cyclical market which it is quite feasible to think could be turning up soon and small enough in size to be gobbled up by a bigger player, & that is thrown in for nothing.

Despite being long & wrong as I am, I have to agree with your optimism on this stock & I have added a bit more this morning to my holding.

A cut in divi but a reasonably upbeat report from the board.

Question is, were the market expecting worse than this or better ?

I wouldn't worry about "derampers" as you call them, on this board, they are mainly people who have observed the shenanigans on this board over the years.

It is the perpetual rampers you need to be aware of, quite how relevant is having a Godfather at Dunkirk & then company secretary in the days when typewriters were the hi tech machines in offices, as to whether or not this company survives is laughable. I always thought that after the rejected bid during covid MARS would be taken out by private equity of one form or another, the fact that this has not occurred makes me think that people have assessed this stock in a more logical fashion than boasting of the ex secretary's admirable war record & they don't like what they see.

Hence we are where we are rather than the wishes of stale bulls.

Shares currently 35p down 5.8% on my screen.

Positive news a divi of 3.5p has been declared xd next week and pays in June.

The same divi this time last year was only 3p and that was before the fca investigation, so they must be confident that all is well.
