Yes, you are quite correct, my error. It does say that they are the 6th and 7th of the type to be delivered and i am not sure when the other 5 were delivered or how they were paid for, but otherwise I have no idea and it is a very good question as it is some cash burn.
In the RNS it does say that since February they have taken delivery of 2 new A321 neo aircraft paid for with their own cash. I imagine that might explain the reduction in their own cash reserves?
Jet 2 have announced that they will be opening their 12th base at Bournemouth Airport with the 1st flight due to depart to Tenerife 01 April 2025. 2 aircraft will initially be based there offering 27 flights per week. Great to hear of further expansion especially into a relatively wealthy, underserved catchment area.
J2 are you base 4 aircraft at Liverpool from next March offerings around 500000 seats to several destinations including some exclusive to Jet 2. This gives the airline but more importantly it's Tour operator division more exposure in the North West and at an airport where its nearest rival TUI are not represented. This new base should further improve utilisation of it's aircraft overall.
Hexam. Thank you VERY much for your very precise and clear information. Very much appreciated.
I have spoken to Interactive investor and they tell me I can do nothing until Thursday with regard to either taking up the rights issue or selling the rights issue. Is this correct. I have confidence in TUI (rightly or wrongly) and think I want to take up my right issue which will amount to around 880 shares, BUT i do not want to miss either way. Is Thursday the first day I can actually do anything. I would appreciate some advice. Thank you
Steve Heapy, Chief Exec announced at the Jet2 conference for the Travel industry in the Algarve this week that Jet2 Holidays intend to double capacity within the next 6 years. They already have a record 5.3 million ATOL licenced seats which is not very far behind TUI and 146 new aircraft ordered/optioned for delivery upto 2031. This very well managed company is obviously very confident of its proposed much expanded future. I am sure, especially as with most airlines there will be challenges to overcome along the way but with the excellent record that the management have clearly displayed I am confident that in a few years time the share price will be considerably higher than it is now. All in my opinion of course.
Jet2 do not operate to Germany so the news that no lockdown there will not make a great deal of difference. However the lockdown in Austria will as they operate to both Salzburg and Innsbruck. Hopefully the restrictions will be eased in time to rescue some Christmas bookings. Imo
The drop today I imagine is due to the Austrian lockdown announced today. This potentially could affect lucrative Christmas ski flights and holidays. It is currently for 20days so hopefully it will be open again but it will mean potential loss of important revenue, at least in the short term. No doubt jet2 will handle it well and are fortunately still well placed for such a set back and recover from it. Imo
I too have been in several years with an average of .60p and loved watching it go to 36p but have kicked myself since for not selling then, hindsight is wonderful!! But I still have faith that in time it will come good and surpass the highs of early this year, hopefully? It's just been a difficult watch for the last 11 months but onwards and upwards , imo. Good luck to all holders.
This amazingly well run airline continues to impress!! Buying new, far more economical aircraft with substantially less fuel burn and maintenance costs to replace the oldest units it it's fleet when it is a buyers market makes perfect sense. During the Pandemic they have proved popular with the travelling public issuing refunds promptly, have excellent in resort procedures, have tremendous travel trade support, very conscious staff and the skill, flexibility to increase or decrease capacity depending on current booking trends and changes in restrictions. Hopefully this will reflect over a period of time in a much higher share price than at present, but I still expect a few bumps along the way, mostly due to the mostly illogical whims of the Government and any negative material changes brought about by Covid. All of course in my opinion.
The purchase of 36 Airbus A321 Jen is with more on option is good, positive forward planning news. These will no doubt replace the ageing (30yrs average) Popular with the flight deck but expensive to maintain and fuel B757. Their seating capacity is only 3 seats less at 232 over the 757 but 33 seats more than the mainstay B737-800 and probably more economical. This bodes well for for future margins BUT the unknown quantity is just how quickly load factors return to, or exceed pre covid levels and I this will ultimately determine the share price. All imo.
Good to see the first revenue flight ( as opposed to crew training and positioning) for many months from Leeds Bradford today. It is only to Jersey a fairly low dense route but at least it's a start and hopefully more routes will follow as restrictions are hopefully relaxed.
