Adrian Hargrave, CEO of SEEEN, explains how the new funds will accelerate customer growth Watch the video here.
It does sound like VOG have been working closely with ENEO regarding their domestic customer issues and finding a solution that benefits both parties!
It would therefore appear that there has been a lot going on in the background and hence why Kevin Foo is confident of a return initially of the Logbaba power plant supplying 30MW within the next two weeks!
"Indeed, the new smart meters which are rechargeable with call credit via mobile phone, will now require Eneo customers to pay before being served."

Cameroon: Norwegian and Chinese Energy Investors to Create 800,000 New Jobs
The President of the Republic of Cameroon, His Excellency Paul BIYA held a joint meeting with Mr. Finn Johnsen, President of Green Energy Norway (Grenor SA), and Mr. Song Dong Sheng, President of Power China International.
The Head of State granted an audience to the Norwegian and Chinese energy investors on Friday 11 August 2017 at the Unity Palace.
Speaking to reporters after the 90-minute audience, both personalities revealed their interest to join forces with the Government in the realisation of energy-related projects in Cameroon.
Mr. Finn Johnsen announced that Grenor SA plans to create at least 800,000 new jobs in Cameroon “based on access to electricity”. He cited three projects. These include:
- a 150 MW Thermal Plant in Douala;
- the construction of a Hydroelectric Plant in collaboration with Power China International;
- and a 1,000 MW Gas-fired Power Plant in partnership with ENEO and the Government of Cameroon.
On his part, Mr. Song Dong Sheng of Power China International said he seized the opportunity to update the Head of State on their input towards the completion of the Memve’ele Hydroelectric Dam project. He also stated that the Chinese Group will continue its cooperation with the Government of Cameroon; to accomplish the 2035 industrialisation plan.

Cameroon gas talks with DPDC and Grenor to expand customer base
posted the February 22, 2018 by Energies Media
Dibamba Power Development Company (DPDC) and the Norwegian Grenor would consider building thermal power plants to generate electricity from gas in Douala
Gas du Cameroun (GDC) could soon supply two independent power producers with natural gas, Energies Media learned via a report released last week by the company.
The subsidiary of the British firm Victoria Oil and Gas PLC (VOG) is in talks with Dibamba Power Development Company (DPDC) - a subsidiary of Britain's Globeleq - and the Norwegian group Grenor for the supply of natural gas to them.
DPDC has a thermal power station of 88 MW in Yassa (Douala), fueled by heavy fuel oil; and Grenor is working on a 150 MW thermal power station project, still in the Littoral region. This plant will be supplied with natural gas .
The potential entry of these independent power producers into GDC's customer portfolio will substantially increase the amount of natural gas distributed by this VOG subsidiary and impact its financial health.
Its largest current customer, the concessionaire of the public electricity distribution service, ENEO , has suspended the supplies of its 50 MW power plant since early January 2018 for cash tensions. ENEO's supplies accounted for 53% of the sales of the Logbaba gas field - operated by GDC - for the 2017 financial year. Without the resumption of the partnership with ENEO, the company has difficulties in implementing the development plan of its subsidiaries. capabilities.
Gaz du Cameroun is the only natural gas distributor in Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon. GDC operates in the Logbaba gas field and has been serving a pipeline since 2012 with the industrial areas of Bassa and Bonabéri , in addition to ENEO.

bigsmoke, if you remember Grenor and Power China International are part of a steering committee (signed by Paul Biya seven months ago) so probably a bit soon to write them off!
On December 19, 2017, Paul Biya, Cameroon’s president, has signed a decree for the creation, organization, and functioning of a steering committee for the electricity highways project.
Present in this governmental committee are the Norwegian Green Energy Norway (Grenor) and the Chinese Power China International. The mission of this committee is to ensure the consistency of projects with public policies, validate related studies, formulate strategic orientations, assess funding strategies, make sure that government’s commitments and obligations are met, recruit external consultants, etc.
The presence of these two groups in the committee is not a big surprise. Indeed, on August 11, 2017, in Yaoundé, Paul Biya met with Finn Johnsen, and Song Dongsheng, respective CEOs of Green Energy Norway (Grenor) and Power China International.
That day, they came to the Palais de l’Unité to present, to the president, an industrial development offer for the country. This first includes the construction of a 150 MW thermal power plant whose output will be provided to people of Douala and its surroundings. Next, there is the extension of Memve’ele hydroelectric dam (211MW) and, finally, the construction of a 1,000 MW thermal power plant.
During the meeting, Finn Johnsen declared that this extensive programme is an opportunity for young job seekers because it will help generate 800,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Get a life!
Get back under that stone!
The Q2 Operations Update.is due around the end of this month so it will be interesting to see what progress (if any) VOG have achieved in improving the current situation!
