I've been researching a lot about the Zambian copper. JLP have bought the Kabwe smelter and loads of tailings dumps, going to do a big clean up, forecasting 25k ton per annum copper refined starting now, financials look very strong.
Glencore must be miffed they let that go.

In GH last interview he was talking about the drilling plans on 3 fronts next year starting as soon as the weather conditions allow. The infill drills at Havieron and other targets on the 12 block zone will be used to support the PFS this time next year.
The PFS figures should be substantially more than the MRE.

Telfer gold dores are sent to the Perth mint where they charge for their services they then give back credits and debits to Telfer for the 25% silver and iron in the dores.
Prices were hedged at $1,500 not sure if they've been increased maybe not.
The figures haven't included for the profit on the copper which will bring the AISC right down.
Telfer remaining minerals are becoming low grade this has a major effect on the plant. Low grades are leached it's a cheaper process but the rest of the plant is starved of higher grade ore making it unproductive or idle and uneconomical.
Leaching loses a lot of additional minerals and profits.

I'm still a bit confused about this phrase 'copper unit'
On the web site it mentions about 25kton copper units
On Proactive they say it's 25,000 ton per annum refined product.
I always believed it be a chamber fro grinding at pressure.
I asked an experienced chap on the Ggp board and he said it was to do with pressures.
Researching it yesterday a woman tried to sell me a pressure chamber :)))

I sent an e mail yesterday to Jlp awaiting a reply.
I initially thought it referred to the copper mattes or the anodes as one of the photos of Kabwe shows with a chap pulling up one of the anodes

That's what I thought was the pressure but I don't know where the 25000ton fits in. At first I thought it could be the copper matte tonnage but that's far too high a tonnage

I thought a copper unit was a chamber grinding unit

As far as I know a copper unit is to do with the chamber crushing pressures CUP.
Not sure how the 25t relates to that though

I personally and it's only my opinion that Newmont didn't walk away from EG.
GH had just taken over, the company plans were changing as they were looking at Havieron.
The writing was on the wall that Newcrest would move in with Telfer round the corner.
I still believe Newmont just got out of the way, EG is in the middle of nowhere, a lot of infrastructure needed to produce anything there, Newmont's eyes were elsewhere.
EG could be a Tier 1 ore body not asset, the route to an asset is an expensive journey.

Regarding Thor up near Panorama I'm not expecting them to find anything exceptional it's a different type of gold assets up there, any copper will be minuscule if any. That sp could drift, definitely one not for me.

I can't see the point of having another miner in my portfolio.
A portfolio is there to derisk your investments, spread around your monies safer.
I'm engrossed with Ggp as you might have gathered but I do keep an eye on my other shares. ITM hydrogen growth industry, IKA innovative battery maker, TW was for dividends, LMP for dividends, JLP processor of tailings my biggest near term future growth stock, PHE hydrogen from plastic waste.
I haven't really been buying lately but Ggp % in my portfolio keeps getting bigger over 85%. I will have to derisk at some point but now is not the time.

Whatever the future holds I doubt any of us will ever see the likes of these drilling logs again nearly every hole has long lengths with both gold and copper highs.
There may be bigger mines with large mineralisation high grades but doubt if there is both gold and copper with such high consistent grades.
I've just picked out one result from each of the first few drills

I could carry on for nearly every hole spectacular grades.

What I worry about is other investors seeing lower grades appearing at other targets and thinking they are a disappointment.

Havieron grades are spectacular a once in a lifetime event, it may never be repeated

I have seen that before, they had problems with the amount of waste rock/gangue getting into the concentrate, so the Jameson process was introduced before it goes to the leach stage.
It is a complicated process to get to the gold dore/copper concentrate stage

I believe at Telfer after going through the ball mills, grinding and crushing the ore is sorted into grades by a computerised scanning device. They need to keep grades consistent so they don't have to keep changing the consistency of the reagents/cyanide.
From sorting low grade ore is leached, the high grade goes to the cyanide circuit to remove the gold/silver to make Dores.
The residues copper/gold etc is sent to the flotation circuit as you described.
It forms as a concentrated powder and exported to SE Asia
There are some great photos of the processes on JLP web site showing the powder, blister copper, anodes and cathodes, also different ranges of processing plants.

This morning Jim was hoping for softer rock for less reagents to be needed but with them starting with the HGZ sulphides I think it's going to be harder

Volumes worked out from magnetic modelling
Kraken about 1,100,000,000 tons
Blackbeard about 750m tons
Barbossa about 500m tons
London ? not enough published info

So those top 3 are about 4-5 x larger than Havieron without London.
Then there's Blackhills South and a NW extension of Kraken and other unexplored areas within Scallywag
