Ggp will have their new man at the helm, he is an expert on running large mines.
Having a good relationship with GH was one thing but mining is not in his remit.
Ggp now has someone who knows what he's talking about.
SD will know what to do with getting the Tasmanian assets to the next level

Any mining chief globally would give their eye teeth to have 25-30% of one of the most exciting projects coming on stream in the next few years.
If Ggp had no other projects they would still be lining up for the job.
Havieron could be one of the biggest mines to start in over 10 years.
Ggp have 2 seats on the Havieron committee we need 2 candidates that know their stuff. I don't call that a back seat.

I'm intrigued by SD presentation of Northern Star when he was talking about there Alaskan mine Pogo. It was run by the Japanese who put an 8.3g/t cap on their resources. Northern Star took over and were finding new areas with 7.6g/t raising the resources considerably.

So that was a minimum cap.
Our MRE cubes were capped at 40g/t
now I'm confused was that a max or min. At that figure it looks like a max.

The caps did restrict the number of cubes that could be added to the resource figure.

It's not the rest of the BOD that wanted a change, they would have thought hard to keep him. He obviously felt he was out of his depth with mining negotiations.
This new committee being set up at Havieron will need specific people not GH and maybe not CB. SD will know the right people to bring in, I'm expecting at least 2 appointments to be announced in the near future.
GH told us he didn't want to be the one to take Ggp into mining it's a different expertise.
Havieron is a huge project, I don't believe many here realise how big, it needs the right people from major mining projects. They won't be coming from the little miners, they will be coming from the larger projects like Kargoorlie.
There haven't been many large mines starting in the last 20 years so experienced start up experts are going to be few and far between.
There are going to be experts out there in start ups, mining production and also closures so we need the right candidates and SD must know people to bring in

I can't see GH taking over Rio or NCM he hasn't got the relative credentials.
My personal view this pressure from NCM to get the mine going asap has hastened this new appointment probably a lot sooner than GH expected.
The queue for his services must be very long, there will probably be a big influx of funds following him.

I don't know much about Shaun Day but have spent sometime looking at Kalgoorlie and the merger
Northern Star aiming to produce 1.2m oz per year . Aisc high at $16-1700
They have massive mines need to and have found new resources around the old pits.
The merged company is big but not quite as big as NCM.

I'm excited by this appointment he looks to be the right replacement although whoever takes over has a strong act to follow.
We needed someone with the experience of running mines, Ggp will have a big say on the Havieron committee so I can see that had to happen quickly.
Whether we will mine Scallywag, well I don't believe Ggp are capable yet it's too big, 25% of that will be huge.

Overall I'm pleased for Ggp with this appointment we are going to the next level. The progressive upward momentum is continuing.

I'm very sad to see you go but realise your aims have been met for the company and it needs to move to the next level.
You looked very saddened by the announcement this morning.

High grade zone28 Jul 2020 07:38
This is my attempt of the resources in the high grade zone using published measurements.
Sulphide zone top layer @5g/t = 1.4m oz
Middle layer @ 3g/t = 850,000 oz
Lower layer @ 1.5g/t = 150,000 oz

The Breccias around the sulphide zone @2g/t = 7.4m oz

So my gold ounces were fairly close to the MRE of 2.2m oz
the breccias were out mainly because they altered the grade from 2 to 1 in Sept so my figure of 7.2m should have been 3.6m oz.
Looking at the tonnages in the MRE the breccias were 34m tons 9 of which were in the Northern zone leaving 25m.
The tonnage I worked out in July based on 550x 630 deep x 100m average width = c110m tons.
What i'm suggesting is that there is still maybe 75m tons around the HGZ not in the Resource yet and definitely a further 250+metres below it including that last fantastic drill result which started below the depth of the MRE

In the new web pages I came across this

Grade caps used were: Crescent Zone – 40g/t Au, 30,000ppm Cu; Calcite Breccia – 24g/t Au, 14,000ppm Cu; Actinolite Breccia – 19g/t Au, 9,000ppm Cu which equate to around the 99th percentiles of composite grade distributions.

They've got these caps from their experience at Telfer.
Each 10m cube has been averaged out and judging by what that statement infers grades above those caps were not included.
The figures for the MRE do not go below 750m
They have stated the drilling has found mineralisation below 1,000m of mineralisation.
When they hit grades of 637 g/t deeper down are they only going to use 40g/t of it?
Bit baffled by those caps, I mean 24 &19g/t caps on the breccias wow.

I also checked my figures using a grid system and deducted the post mineral Dyke and it came to around 176,000 sq m

I was over the moon with the copper grades at 0.61% that's massive.
The sulphides were always going to be the main source of the copper, it should be looked on as a copper equivalent rather than a gold eq but gold is what catches people's attention

It was slightly deflating but when I looked at my original calculations for the HGZ it wasn't too bad. I quoted on here 2m oz last July.
When I studied the schematics it's quite obvious the HGZ is very patchy in its grades, that might be why they will still be doing more infill drilling in the New Year.
They had to get that MRE out to prove the probability of the mine it was only a start to be able to get the Decline in motion.
There are still areas of the high grade zone still to be added in.
The MRE mixed in areas of high grade breccias now that to me is an enormous bonus , it could lift the average grades of the rest.

I was probably the cause of your disappointment when I was using dimensions from the RNS to get my figures but clearly the mechanisms for calculating the MRE didn't utilise those dimensions. The cube system used is a much precise method and you can see on the schematics some of the cubes in the HGZ need more input.
Hannam's have also noted they're grades were inaccurate which I had said were far too high. The volumes eventually used are lower than mine and Hannam's.
In conclusion it was a little deflating but there is now more chance of a bigger upside.

I have a bit of a soft spot for Saddlereef.
The rock chip sample survey was what kicked start the sp rise with the likes of 55g/t.
The 2019 RC drilling campaign centred on 3 cross sections A,B and C from NW to SE
Holes 10 and 11 on section A looked the best nothing outstanding.
There's been a lot of drilling historically and Greatland drilling was sparse compared to the size of it.
The grades are modest but at section A there at the surface
·; Results received confirm the presence of high-grade gold mineralisation at the Saddle Reefs prospect. Best results include:

o 13m @ 2.01g/t Au from 67m (SRRC012), including

§ 2m @ 7.38g/t Au from 77m

o 12m @ 1.38g/t Au from 32m (SRRC011), including

§ 1m @ 10.96g/t Au from 35m

o 36m @ 0.35g/t Au from surface (0m) (SRRC010)

o 19m @ 0.51g/t Au from 118m (SRRC007)

·; New drill results are considered very positive with several intervals greater than 5g/t gold, indicating the potential for a fertile gold system at Black Hills.

This is the only licence we have that's at the surface.
What are the advantages of being at surface.
No Decline
Less machinery
Less time from ground to transport
AISC much lower
Cash return quicker

My personal view is Newcrest want to know what's at Parlay which geophysical wise looks very interesting before they commit drilling rigs to firm up Saddlereef and submit a mining lease.
If Telfer needs the ore it's sat there waiting, it will monetise Blackhills immediately.
The Southern end of Saddlereef can be progressed at a later date.

There must be news in the waiting on this.

I posted this last night for those that didn't see it. I've altered my maths :))
Just reviewing my calculations on Scallywag, starting afresh I've been looking at the IP chargeability plan where they show a few cross sections.
These cross sections are a bit on the small side but it clearly shows Blackbeard and London continuously linked.
Moving round with the cross sections hinged at London, the one towards Kraken is hit and miss.
Unfortunately they haven't provided one from Kraken to Blackbeard but when you look at the 2d magnetic cross sections the anomalies at Kraken and Blackbeard widen out considerably as they go down.

I might not be right here but all 3 of these targets look linked.

The 5 drill holes in a line look as if they are trying to find a connection between Kraken and Blackbeard.

For Kraken I have scaled measurements at about 1,000m depth by 750m radius
so volume of a cone is
Py x r2 x h/3
3.142 x 562,500 x 333 = 588,459,874 cube
x3sg = 1.765bn ton
If there is a low copper content say 0.1% that would be 1.76m ton

The same grade at Havieron would be 0.48m ton

Without adequate detail I wouldn't like to commit myself here but that 1.78m tons at 0.1% copper could be many times larger.
Jlp in Zambia are getting $4,000 for their copper concentrate you try multiplying that by 1.78m and see what you get and then multiply 3,4,5 times larger and then you start to realise what Gervaise meant by even low grades of copper will look interesting.
