Stas, I don't think there is any rush as the pound might well go lower yet? I think much will depend on this Ranger tech and if it works as hoped. That seems to be the jewel in the crown atm. Bigger players will wait for confirmation no doubt and won't mind paying a bit more if it works well. We are told that more and more are taking up the tech, so we will see.
If they are hitting forecast as they reckon they are, then will this go down much more? I think there is plenty of upside almost regardless of what the BOD do. It's very much out of their hands in the US what Ambry/EKF and others will sell. They did say with Ambry it would be multi millions if I remember correctly.
maybe some behind the scenes deals going on? I doubt they would have got 4.6p on a straight forward trade sell at those numbers. SP didn't budge either?
they have had a strong H1 and H2 will be even better as it's back end weighted usually. They have strong growth and very much on target forecast. EKF should add revenue this half too and Ambry will no doubt weigh in back end of this FY and into next. Left field humdinger anytime too..what you say Optimistic guy,, very quiet all of a sudden! lol
NATDAN, I know you said you might be going today, if so, did you go to the open day part and what is your take on it?
be good to hear from anyone who attended the open day part.
So, no straightforward denial about a buyout, just a bit of waffle to deflect it seems. Surely if there was nothing in the rumour he would have said so?
Probably isn't any easier, but having read through the Laval study I can't see anything that is flagged up as being too prohibitive or onerous regarding process. However, cost saving and accuracy come to the fore. At least one lab crossed over just for the accuracy alone, process didn't seem to be a hurdle, and they never even knew about any cost saving at the time either. It seems to me like the process isn't a big enough problem to outweigh the benefits of accuracy and cost. All just my opinion of course.
it is also less labour intensive and a walkaway is possible leaving people to get on with other stuff. So it looks like the process is easier with Lightbench, cheaper and more accurate,...job done!
unless the open day is cancelled..lol. Simply hard to believe they would choose to do one if things were so bad.
good to see you are still upbeat GLT. As you say fundamentals are still ok it seems.
thing is, if things were going badly would you put yourself up for an open day on top of the AGM, surely not? Has the ceo got something to show off and brag a little bit about at the new premises? He surely wouldn't do it to get a certain kicking..would he?
you would think someone could change where their HQ is on the website. One page says City labs Manchester, the other at Skelton house. Have they moved out of City labs completely does anyone know? Also any ideas why they moved with immediate effect. Hadn't they paid the rent at City labs or was it to be closer to Qiagen? though I think Qiagen were also at city labs,,, hmmm!
nothing else but hang on and wait I guess. I would expect things to turn around, just don't know when, but I think it will. Not sure about the £70k 'smokescreen' either
it was only a mere few months ago they said they were in great shape financially, so how will they go bust so quickly, though nowt surprises me here with this lot.
That Laval report was comprehensive in it's analysis of what Ranger can do and their numbers back it up. So not sure why or how some say it's fairly useless when it's proven and tested to be pretty damn good. Also backed up at Labcorp/others. We are told big outfits are/will be using it too, and at least one lab has completely remodelled their lab just on better results achieved, not to mention any cost saving. I do agree that top management needs a shake up though.
I can't recall any previous rumours on anything much tbh..lol
Steve, yes my thoughts too on sp action if any substance in the rumour. Then again, it usually happens when you least expect it, so ever hopeful. Might also be some other tie up with a bigger player...just some good news is all we want.
Stas, yes I am aware how big they are, and yes it does seem more than a coincidence with the immediate change of address. Maybe they will get it announced before the AGM/Presentation day.. Now wouldn't that be good eh.
would also fit in that there have been no director/management buys. At least it's put a bit of spark into this for a day or two..lol
