Generally there is a ramp up on SP once orebody discovered followed by a steady decline in the following years as investors realise the cash required to develop a mine etc. Meanwhile the likes of Newmont etc are happy to sit and wait whilst the discovery team surmount all the hurdles thrown at mining companies. Most generally get taken out at low price when the parent company finally runs out of money. This funding deal with Franco Nevada now makes Solg a solvent company through to extraction. If one of the big boys now wants the resource they're going to have to pay for it. Meanwhile POG predicted to increase steadily while we wait for production. Happier now with this company than for some time.

Spent a long lifetime investing and losing money in gold explorers. Have learnt that the real money is made by speculating and trading in and out as news, fears, and hopes move penny stocks by extreme percentages. Have a modest long term holding in ggp and not expecting first gold production, aquifer permitting, for at least 2/3 years. Meantime speculators at work will raise and dash our hopes in equal measure on what remains as a hole in the ground.
