Not bothered complaining, have done in the past and got fobbed off, the only way is to take business elsewhere but not got round to it yet, do all my banking with lloyds and been a loyal customer for years but will definately be going elsewhere
I actually worked on a few Aldi supermarkets, when i was on the tools, 10 or so year back and even then they were pritty proactive in H&S and were ahead of the game in my eyes
part of the ROK group work on a couple of my sites and i was told to buy once they hit 23p, i didn't and they subsequently dropped to 17p and i rang him and complained. Lets just say i avoid him now so he doesn't rub my nose in it all the time ha
I've worked on sites myself where this has happened, and as i was a subbie and on price work you tend to just get on with it. I've also worked on a site where someone was killed and on this particular site you couldn't even take your hat off to wipe your brow without gwtting a warning
What i meant by get out clause is this: if you induct someone on site and fully explain any safety issues and good practices and then they sign the induction sheet, they have signed to say they understand the site rules etc. The site manager cannot oversee every operation on site and mistakes and accidents will occur. If an accicent occurs due to neglect or not following site specific rules then whoever causes the accident then becomes responsible, rather than the manager.
Every company is run differently and has different systems, we have our own she management team who visit sites frequently and each site manager has a she filing system which they file every week. Subcontractors cant even start on site without 1st passing stringent checks by the she team. I believe we have a good system and H&S is a top priority for the company, but accidents still occur on site, although nothing major to date.
Area manager myself and know the system, inductions, toolbox talks and the likes are all site manager get out clauses.
Not saying you or Hammer not correct just making statement
Sorry to butt in.
Having been a site manager and still in the building industry the site manager has overall responsibility for H&S on site, although every individual who works on site has responsibility for themselves and others H&S. If the HSE were to get involved then they would be looking at the site manager for blame
Had same problem with lloyds, tried to sell 5 times when 128-130 and wouldn't let me so set stop at 126, and that failed as well, so eventually sold at 120.25, Lloyds are s**t.
