Great post, Jinvestsus, with some very good points regarding revenue and margins, eg. $10-15m to break even. Well noted.
But, the story here is much more than just improved economics by a new management team. The supercapacitor offers huge future potential as it effectively spans the niche between battery power storage and large short-term power supply of a conventional capacitor. The company has developed ultra thin units, with implications for smaller devices, such as handsets, etc.
There are a couple of new patents, which are worth reading up on.
Cap-xx has developed the SMT (surface-mount technology) supercapacitor and has demonstrated reflow soldering techniques to enable mass production assembly using a reflow oven. (Prior to SMT the components would be manually soldered onto the printed board).
There is also much talk of a new type of binder, which could prove to have game-changing potential.
Management here also has plenty of skin in the game, with newly elected chairman Graham Cooley reputed to have splashed the best part of 1m of his own money on his declareable holding.
Given the high profile buy-in from Swiss electronics enterprise, Schurter, as well as more recent deals with several, globally widespread, components distributors, one might wonder why other, larger investment bodies aren't piling in here for themselves, not least at the present appetisingly low levels (market cap. around £7m).
The investment case here is far more than increased sales capacity, guided by a new and capable management, but a possible new tech development play, which is why there are so many who do actually expect a multi-bagger from Cap-xx.
The more you learn about supercapacitors, the more exciting (and compelling) it gets...
