Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Evening.... topsharepicks, well, we never knew what KB was doing, when he was in detailed talks, before delivering the MOU with EAMPL - within the last few weeks… I’m hoping that his legal team has told him that Baylan will have to sit on his favourite chair in the bathroom, when he phones the PM, and ask’s for another chance! “Concession first”.. atb..
Evening.. Eric, yes! We don’t want any fence – sitting on this one.. Any BS ambiguity, and the objectors won’t ever listen to reason.. As said before, all considerations made regarding boundary/potential mine at Kallak, are a matter of record since the 90’s..They cannot backtrack on what is recorded! The mining inspectorate should know all of those details, they would have had some input during the consultation period, when they already knew iron – ore existed at Kallak - The MI has recommended that the concession should be granted! Comrade Baylan is either, wanting to fleece BEM, or hasn’t the ability to win political argument over those that has less than 4% public support.. He’s PM material for sure! Imo only atb…
Evening.... Wotitsworth, a late reply.. Much what we read here about UNESCO might just throw a spanner into the works, is because most investors have lost trust in Baylan/Government.. Concerns are justified, as the process has been somewhat loaded.. We are very much in the dark, and as a poster righty said, we are second – guessing.. From the reported facts, I do believe that the concession will be granted..
What we do not want imo, is UNESCO making some BS recommendation re improvements to Environmental standards etc, to be attached to any award.. If/when we apply for the Environmental permits, we do not want The Environmental court having to work within any governors set by any conditions within the award, that KB judges to be unjustified.. Why? The Environmental court can regulate/stipulate production levels (Tonnage) to address any Environmental concerns that they might then foresee.. KB would not want Baylan to accept any such recommendations, and Baylan would have the levers in any negotiations with KB.. Then, we could go into battle..
Of course, the above is just a personal opinion, and that I have nothing to back - up those concerns, other than, I have watched this process and cannot believe that Baylan still holds his position.. Bent, beyond repair.. And also, the fact that the most successful football clubs, always manage to somehow sign the best football players lolol..Regardless of what is what, make no mistake, we are in big politics because Kallak is big money!!!!!!!!! I have forgotten the Green’s, and reindeer long ago! “Concession first” atb..
Evening.. Wotitsworth, Yes it should get approved.. For the Government to deny the grant of concession, and then, should the appeal court grant BEM the concession, that would be a political catastrophe for the Government.. To say 8 years, to make a decision, and for the KU report, to confirm in some detail of the Government’s failings over that period would be one thing, for that decision to then be overturned (legalities) would be very much another! Especially when, the proposals had the backing from the MI.. The whole party would pick up the tab.. It would seem that BEM are taking nothing as a given, in respect of the contents of any comments coming UNESCO.. What we know from BEM is : “ Its not a matter for UNESCO”! Any messing from UNESCO where they shouldn’t be messing, must not be accepted by the Government.. KB has made that perfectly clear! Imo only.. atb..
Evening.. topsharepicks - Our proposals were submitted under the current mineral policy.. The MI has recommended that the concession should be granted, again, under the current policy.. Baylan’s involvement of UNESCO is under the current process....The CEO has stated: “It’s not a matter for UNESCO”.. It’s for the Government to make a decision! The ball is in their court..
Takayama – Extension to World heritage property? Baylan would be sending the PM down to the unemployment office.. Explorers would pack their bags, and get the xxxx out of Sweden.. Imo only… atb…
Morning playmates lol.. yep, another delay on the Kallak heist.. The radio silence is deafening – all very hush – hush! All, are very careful with any comment it would seem.. And worse this time, you can smell the corrupt bsd Baylan’s dirty little game in an attempt to screw BEM over on something.. % JV? No idea! For someone of UNESCO’s standing, to take months to print – off every recorded detail on how/why they delivered on their adopted policy back in the 90’s, when the presence of iron – ore at Kallak WAS already KNOWN for some 50 years, must have political input.. We are not Children! They might be able to hold on to their comments a little longer, but policy is policy, and both KB, and the MI know exactly how the submitted proposals measure against all policies (Law), and they are of one - mind on this! So Mr Baylan, if you think BEM for years did chose to dilute the Company unnecessarily so, then think again! Its “Concession first”!!! Imo only atb…
Evening.. If we didn’t know Baylan’s request for UNESCO to make comment was political, then their failure to date, to make comment, confirms the involvement of politics imo.. They will have every recorded detail of every consideration made, and all records of all correspondence, on how exactly, they arrived at the border’s location.. They have the answers now! If the border’s location was objected to at that time, then that’s too bad for the objectors, because a decision has been made some 25 years ago, and there are no new arguments that can be made – Kallak or Laponia, has not changed or moved.. Any ideas about any recommendations they can delightfully ram in their ANI..
Why are the political opponents down in Jokkmokk asleep at the wheel? These are supposed to be giving a voice to all of the people – those same people who want to make firm plans re their futures, and how any mine would change everything for everyone! Baylan, is an open – goal! This man BS’s about “Green transition”, whilst the voter in Jokkmokk has remained in limbo for 8 years, and still, has to guess, if the cleanest iron – ore on planet earth will ever to go to market one day! Kallak ore is Greta Green, and they look the other way.. The Swedish political class, just like those here in Britain, are xxxxxxg useless for the people – the result of half a century, of having to ask permission from Brussels to use the bathroom.. Ideologues, who want to dictate every when, how and who.. Bent! (“Concession first”).. Imo only atb…
Aternoon.. 3cardbrag, don’t know! Judging by KB’s wording in his letter, taken from the RNS December17th 2020, Baylan should have done a whole lot better!
One example:
“Given that transport is addressed by the Environmental Court and does not form part of the decision making process for an Exploitation Concession, it is premature and outside the norm for it to be raised as an issue at this time and in this case.” Outside the norm at this time?
Are we to believe that this man doesn’t understand the process, or what is actually proposed when applying for concession?
I wonder what the objectors have had to say about the boundary.. I don’t imagine that they have kept quiet, on Baylan’s latest pit – stop.. atb..
Evening.. Eric, your “Does Baylan therefore feel that Kurt’s comment has weight?” Well, I can imagine that KB in private, made BEM’s position very clear re the weight to Baylan, should any adopted policy (Law) now becomes flexible.. We have come to learn that KB is not someone who goes OTT with his comments.. We have also seen the RNS (June 17’) where KB’s comments makes perfectly clear, the policy considerations for “exploitation” outside of the “boundary”.. We do not need any comments/ considerations at all about any “indirect impact”, which would very quickly be argued as “impact” as a “direct” result of a working – mine! We need “clinical precision” lol, and NOW! We would not have been in this position, if it were not for the CAB - Made up of – The Butcher, the Baker, the Reindeer herder, the Carpenter, the Lawyer, the Reindeer herder FFS.. Imo only atb..
Eric.. Thank you.. Yes, there should not be any grounds for the objectors to challenge any award.. Then Baylan did ask UNESCO for their comments.. We need them to confirm that it isn’t a matter for them, as its miles outside the established border! They need to be unambiguous with any, and wrap this up.. A thousand words only, detailing just how the position of the border was carefully selected, back in the 90’s, when appreciating that Kallak supported iron – ore, and that a resulting working - mine, was fully considered as a real possibility for some time in the future, would do us nicely lol.. However, there was no ambiguity with KB’s “not a matter for UNESCO” comment.. Non -negotiable that! Imo only atb…
Morning.. Whilst we wait.. A little positivity/bias doesn’t do any harm.. Those Swedish concession - application process folks has the monopoly on harm..
Since the Paris climate agreement, high – grade/clean iron ore has become more in demand because of the associated lower energy requirements and other Environmental benefits. And it’s getting harder to find.. As we know, Mining/steel mills are heavy users of energy, and any percentage savings makes a huge difference over the life of a mine, in terms of costs and industry/Nation’s Environmental contractual legal obligations.. Now, even talk of introducing a two - tier type market with a new second bench set at 65% iron content.. Who knows? One result of this is, over the past couple of years or so, Chinese money is targeting explorers in Australia - big time.. Reports of $3 AUD (£1.50/70) P/T measured, being paid for deposits showing real promise with good Tonnage and grades of 65% and over, and WITHOUT PERMIT TO MINE.. Some must figure, this policy with greater risk, is a much cheaper option for them to purchase clean ore.. The Paris agreement has changed some practices.. Very few deposits has anything near the Kallak grades.. Its ore will be in huge demand..
We are still, waiting for the Government, who is waiting for comments from UNESCO.. If the Government grant’s the concession Following any comments from UNESCO, then any opening, that may have existed otherwise to challenge any award, would no longer exist, due to UNESCO’s comments re Laponia.. Regardless of what comments UNESCO may indeed make, Baylan knew /knows full well, that they will have legal implications and that they are pivotal.. So imo either, UNESCO will cement the outcome he wanted, or he is a fool? If the concession is backed by UNESCO, then the qualifying time - period to lodge an appeal, may well have less of a bearing on the SP movement, and any further positive news coming from BEM re Kallak’s future, might then come sooner, rather than later.. If we get the green light, as a result of UNESCO doing their job only, we will see exactly what 70% iron content will do imo.. Yes, we now have over 800 million shares in circulation, but when investors learn that we no longer need to dilute further at silly prices (concession), we will be far more likely to include Kosovo and Finland into the valuations, for example.. And, should then, a miner have any idea’s about wanting to swallow N.Kallak whole, then any move before BEM enter any contract is a must! KB - “Concession first”? Indeed! …Imo only atb…
Morning.. There has not been proper process (KU), this has been dishonest for far too long… However, now that the Government has involved UNESCO, any comments/practice by either one, must be backed by their adopted policy(s).. In recent weeks, Baylan/ the Government’s failings with permit process and with mining in general, has become the focus for their political opponents. It’s in their own interest to be at least, seen to be turning things around.. This talk of the “Green transition” won’t cut it, with some CEO’s/others.. As for UNESCO, may have to defend any comments made, at some other time! imo only atb..
lbjj - Neville Chamberlain? Winston Churchill?...loll Lordy me!.... lbjj, Just one question please… When the concession is granted, and hopefully, KB has nothing negative to report about any attachments being unjustified, would you kindly post and tell me/us if you managed to buy any shares under 20P? I think that you will struggle with that one.. You do show much concern for my investments, and I want you to know that I care for you too! It’s not much to ask. Thank you! atb
Takayama, I have not missed your point at all.. The Saami have objected to the application for concession.. Their representatives will have been involved in Many discussions covering many different topics/ issues.. Some of these will have a much wider consideration(s), away from mining, and the proposal site itself..The politics involved, will be conducted by the Government, in an attempt to deliver on a mumber of issues.. The Saami are a political score, and we know nothing of any details to date involving BEM.. We have no idea of any offer(s) made by anyone at any time for any reason.. We are in the dark on this! However, you claim to have the answer to a question, unknown to the outside world..Imo only atb…
Takayama, The Mining inspectorate recommends that the concession be awarded.. In the meantime perhaps, we should allow LKAB to concern themselves with how best to secure the future of the Saami reindeer herders.. They do after all, have a good working relationship with the Saami – they coexist at a number of mine sites.. BEM are not trying to set any precedent at Kallak, in this respect… That said, I’ve seen nothing to suggest that KB has a greed element to his make - up.. Top bloke! Imo only atb…
Morning.. ibjj, “ and continue to be right, year after year.” You won’t “never” be right on this! Because, you have said many times that they will “never” make a decision.. “Never” is a very long time! Imo, if BEM had taken legal action re the delays while we were in a “process”, and before the KU report was made available, we would have been torn to pieces imo.. The legal folks for the objectors would have seen to that, with some BS story.. You don’t need Bxlls in a political arena, you need to show that your proposals do not violate the Government’s/UNESCO’s adopted policies.. And what have we been told? Should BEM have to remind the same, just how their policies read, then for the first time, we have £millions at hand… KB? Please consider this also, KB would never show the powers in Finland that he doesn’t know the exact value of his hand at all times, and any legal battle’s was the result of no other option available! They wouldn’t deal with some Wyatt Earp.. KB is here to unlock Billion, within the Law, he won’t be taking any advice from us clever people with limited information, he is well connected in the industry.. Imo only atb…
Eric, Imo, from the arguments that the objectors have put forward, from the information given out as to the considerations made re the positioning and scope of the boundary for the WHS, Kallak’s clean, high – grade ore, the MI’s recommendation that a concession should be granted etc etc, then we should expect, and soon! KB has stayed resolute since the KU report was made public, but made his position clear re UNESCO.. He has much more information than us, and its sometimes difficult to communicate to investors, when in a political arena, and that he must not mislead.. I trust, that he will have good reason, if he doesn’t push Baylan now, even if I can’t see why..Imo only atb..
Evening.. ibjj, That’s so wrong.. Here’s why – KB, has not made even one wrong move thoughout this process.. People will do, and will want to do business with Kurt Budge.. Baylan has got Buisness leader’s, opposition parties and media/other, telling all, that this man is a liability – he’s bad for Swedish mining.. His BS “Green transition” and any word – changing to the mineral policy, means jack all - Yesterday’s man! What should have KB done differently iyo? What would have then been the result? Imo only atb…
Afternoon.. Eric, to the wider, we have to see what comments UNESCO do make! To move this forward Imo,KB should now ask Baylan to make a decision by x date.. Then its down to Baylan to push for any further input that he feel is required to make that decision (UNESCO).. KB has always kept to being pragmatic, even when he was within his rights, perhaps duty, to make an official complaint.. To push Baylan now, is not being unreasonable at all, because we have not seen any change in the Government’s approach since the KU report was made public.. Both, Baylan and UNESCO must stay with their own adopted policy(s), and that should be positive for investors/all.. Any further politics will be seen for what it is, then we should go upstairs with a plan of action, and don’t mince words as to who is ultimately to blame.. Imo only atb..
