Use II Catabrit and thank you for information. Bought small amount as punt just recently knowning might lose it all or multiply it.
After this year and all the chopping and changing over windfall taxes, would take a brave company to invest now in North Sea and with 2028 for return a long way off. Holding, not as much earlier in year, on hope Serica can do something with increasing cashpile elsewhere.
Beautiful sentiments lamald. Though worth remembering under our liberal democracies, in the West recently, healthcare staff threatened with sack if didn't take up mandatory vaccines, bank accounts seized for being in the wrong protest, police arrests for socially misgenedering. Holding for prospects on copper and coal.
Agree with you epiphany121. Maintained small holding but sold majority today, What's the point of investing in UK anymore, taking the risk but profits going to government. Bought some ETF's focussed on North America energy with funds. Sunak the ex Goldman sachs banker has a lot to answer for in destruction of Uk energy independence.
That's nasty Owls. Could have said that about multitude of other shares massively ramped up in the last couple of years and poosible to post on here., but choose harbour for some reason where all the fundamentals are good and if it wasn't for the threat of the Wndfall tax being extended would be far higher.
Are you holding? I am as a value investor and hope present tosh of government isn't committed to some sort of ex growth Nation. Gla
Added today. Articles recently on Seeking Alpha quite bullish. Mostly along lines of good finacials, need to improve infrastructure in U.S.A. and possible increasing market share through aquisitions of smaller companies.
Eight billion people on World now, figure mostly ignore by media. Do tend to agree with you Rookie, the rise of the technocrats such as Sunak deciding who gets what resources along with a bigger slice for themselves and interests. Hoping SP continues recent rise.
Profit seems to have been always looked down on the U.K,. Seen as at expense of others that leave's out it is possible to increase the overall wealth which leads to better outcomes for all. Have some shares here and if Government conservative/labour want much more of a shrinking pie than might as well list to more amenable jurisditions.
Media certainly does promote themes, not always in the interest of readers. Example , hydrogen power and companies pumped and supposed to be a sure thing in days of uncertanty of lockdowns , with promise nature would just incredibily provide clean energy. Glad didn't take up offer. Sorry for off topic
U.k.becoming uninvestable, when even conservatives look at profits as something bad and giving into the blatently misleading media frenzy over need for higher windfall taxes.
Bullish on need for energy longer term , especially gas so signed online a few forms with brokers and looking at U.S.A. producing companies. Generally shareprices have had a very good year and much more higher rated than here but seem more secure than anything in dear old blighty.
As you say TopCat81. Every poster on here has an agenda on here, whether ramping or deramping, humans are not the most honest, Good article on oilprice.com month or so ago saying era of cheap energy over and move to alternatives just fig leaf that Governments still in control. Holding here again for now anyway.
Here's a conspiracy theory. Why is the SPR now being used to manipulate oil prices when purpose is to provided energy security, where is American's belief in free market.
Bought back today. Hopefully possibilty of extra windfall taxes in the price or close to it and upcoming results gives a boost. gla
