Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Some team mistakes all around, the pit stop was dreadful and cost Vettel a possible lead. Vettel also came in quite hot and left the pits a bit slow. I also think they could have pitted him a bit sooner for the undercut.
Imagine how angry Lawrence would have been if they’d lost the win through disqualification, that would have hurt even more.
And I think where Aston Martin F1 finish in the champ is inconsequential to AML, the F1 team and the sport car manufacturer are completely separate entities. F1 is purely for AML worldwide exposure on a weekly/ bi-weekly basis.
Yeah, that’s a real shame BUT! The exposure of the brand up out front is what it’s all about. To be honest, getting good results is a Brucey Bonus. Just having exposure is enough, hence why even the safety cars at certain races are Aston Martins.
Let’s see what happens tomorrow. I’d rather the SP creeps up to HSBC’s and Citi’s price targets because of improving fundamentals rather than some arbitrary race result.
Sorry to spoil the celebration, but Vettel’s 2nd is in doubt as his car only provided 0.3 litres of fuel sample at the end of the race, when the car should have produced 1 litre.
More news to follow…
What a race, usually Hungary in the dry can be a bit boring, but the Bernie sprinklers must still be working because that was just what this race needed! Brilliant 2nd place for Vettel and Aston Martin although, I’d hoped it would be a first win under the new name.
Shame about the fuel sample issue, hope he somehow keeps his second place.
Honestly, this conversation has gone a bit loopy. How can rappers dancing on cars present a bad image for the brand? When Chris Harris is doing donuts in a new Aston for Top Gear, does that promote reckless driving?
Are you the sort of person that wants to blame video games (e.g. grand theft auto) for gun violence and crime amongst the youth. But then completely misses that 7/10 U.S. movies have guns in them and even billboards around our country promote these films with guns in the imagery - seen by kids?!
Time to grow up people, this IS my type of music, I grew up on Garage, Grime and support Drill and U.K. Rap. If you don’t like it, switch the channel. And I eep your criticism in check because when the next Bond movie comes out and James is shooting rockets out of a DBX, I bet you won’t be complaining, will you?
It’s going to be a long wheelbase variant, with a bigger Merc engine in it, the creative director eluded to it during the DBX launch last year. That’s how I knew the Merc partnership was just a matter of time :)
What are people thinking shorting a stock like this? It’s in turnaround mode, all the negative news is pretty much behind us now.
We’re slowly but surely on the up, all shorters WILL eventually get burned, GME/ AMC style.
So we will have that PHEV of DBX in two years - confirmed by Toby. And electric car ballpark for 2025. 90% cars will be electrified by 2030.
I think the team are pushing ahead at breakneck speed with the turnaround. They are going to milk the ICE lines for all it’s worth with 30% efficiency across all lines of the business, supply to meet demand, and new vehicles and face lifts for the next 1.5 years ahead.
I like how they are being ‘conservative’ with the numbers and dates, even though if they hit those as a minimum, it would already be really good result. Under promise and over deliver is a cautious nod to what the previous management did which was totally the opposite.
My guidance is the same, I’m still diamond handing my shares bought in April & May 2020. Not adding, not selling. But will relook at my position this time next year :) I’m long on AML until 2024/25.
@ englangder your ‘rap’ is defamatory towards Lewis and Black people. I’m personally quite disappointed to see this.
Yeah that was a massive drop out of nowhere. But as a LTH would you notice this in 6 months, I think not.
End game for me is to reach the £6 in old money and buy a villa in barbados outright. Then let my other investments (in property carry me during an early retirement. Of course I have other stock investments too so it could happen without AML doing all that leg work - but it’s only then I’d consider selling. Diamond hands until then!
I was up about 118% up last I checked, bought heavy in the 50's and into the 40s (wish I got in the 30's but was over invested at that point). AML makes up about 35% of the portfolio and I'm happy to leave it there. I'm not touching profits unless the Stroll sells up or I hit 1000% return - which I think is possible in the next 4 years.
Typical Motely Fool article, I’ve only seen one article where they rev omens the stock since I took a position in April last year. They are just trying to write articles, which have little to no substance for the sake of SEO.
Off the back of a decent Q4 and I’m not expecting miracles, we should at least see the SP back to the height of March levels, circa 5,530p in new money.
Think it may have been a mistake to sell those shares, GME made up all the losses and AMC mostly back up too
I've bought AMC yesterday eve, up 30% already! But now T212 won't let anyone buy stocks in them or the others on the reddit list, which is disappointing.
Exactly, for you to have timed that re entry you'd have needed a crystal ball. This stock isn't as volatile as it use to be since the consolidation. This is a long term hold, time to put this one in the bottom draw and come back next year
I’m trying to understand what the downturn is due to? I’ve been holding since April, so you know I’m holding in the low 50’s.
Not surprised the market will see a nice boost today. A trade deal is a big deal to any British company which exports goods to the EU (and beyond). And even to those that don’t to a slightly lesser extent.
