The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Just a reminder, it's ISA top-up time, at this price CPI is looking very good for the short/mid term.
16p as a target from here is easily possible - feels like when RR. was languishing around the 80-85p mark, before it rocketed!

AH's message was solid, investment in AI was good to hear, it can be an excellent tool for reducing administrative / operational costs. It was refreshing to be presented with an honest view (as much as one can expect in business anyway). Ulcer Index on this share is very high but those who can hold will reap benefits.

Small but worth noting - Capita know how to secure gov contracts, and the govt is not going away anytime soon - with the drive towards technology adoption in govt, would not be surprised to see a lot more from that direction IMHO.

Dream on @protraderx - another de-ramping f00l for the filter list
Love it when these de-rampers give their absurd entry prices, their desperation is palpable.
Can only surmise they were in, didn't take the options during fund raising and instead sold. Now in agony over having missed out, deramping their little hearts out.
@TradingPlaces69 - that is an excellent summary!
Think it's the obvious reasons:
1) the end of the pandemic was not in sight - it is now and
2) our friends the shorters and their minions the de-rampers promoting an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.
Stopped R&D for NOW does not mean an end @larkinjersey, do you think they're going to throw away the research?
The company is diverse it does more than just airlines.
The company has solid fundamentals and track history, air travel is not going away, it is the fastest we have and it's going to continue to grow, this pandemic has had its day, recovery is imminent.
@protraderx - you're right about 1 thing - the trend is reversing.
The vaccines are taking hold - with the additional very positive "100% effective in preventing hospitalizations and deaths" news from J&J with their 1 shot vaccine, the end of the pandemic is in sight.
The company did a fund raise and has plenty of cash. They don't need to go cap in hand to banks.
Absolutely @Banxy85 - Only a loss to sell now, we will see if any of the big IIs reduce their holdings - my guess is a big fat NO - in fact the only recent II movement has been to INCREASE holdings.
No major shorts yes - but pretty sure there are shorts on RR. we don't know about it because their holdings are below the 0.5 SSR reporting threshold.
This is a popular retail investor stock because under normal conditions it is rock solid, the absolute best way to get retail investors to sell is to promote a bit of FEAR, and that is what all the recent news is all about. Do not fall for it.
GLA
RR receives $72mill more on previously awarded contract from US Navy...
Peanuts for RR. but good to see business continuing regardless of pandemic.

Ah that's good to know @volcano.
Haha try reviewing all the info! - your figures are for immunity against the virus - what I've posted are about "hospitalizations and deaths".
The US markets were over inflated to begin with, of course it will retrace, not to mention the WSB event shaking up wall street, you sound pretty desperate yourself volcano - are you having trouble closing your shorts?
If you think CPI is a SOLID company then fill you're boots!!!!
There has been a lot of chatter on the other boards about the J&J vaccine.
I just want to highlight the main point unearthed about that vaccine here.
"100% effective in preventing hospitalizations and deaths" - this basically signals the beginning of the end of this pandemic, which in turn will signal the beginning of the recovery of stocks to pre-pandemic prices (for fundamentally sound, well positioned companies)
A bit of bumf to show RR. have been progressing even through the pandemic ...

Course not it'll true then because they have seen the light!
The point everyone is making is that there is ALWAYS an agenda - don't follow them blindly DYOR
If you do that with RR. you will see how solid and well positioned it is, it is an absolute no brainer for the long term and and excellent prospect for the short/mid-term as it recovers
CPI going from strength to strength
Another contract - in recent days
