I thought maybe it’s the ‘other receivables’ but looking at note 10
10. Trade and other receivables consist mainly of amounts receivable for the sale of PGMs.
I did ask the Company why they state that some customers are on 90 day terms whilst others are on strict 30 days yet their Trade Debtors don’t reflect this. I also asked if these overdue debtors settle at the PGM price at the time of payment. I didn’t expect a reply. I didn’t want to post my concerns here but you did ask.
The question was.....
Quarterly earnings are due in a few days and I'm looking forward to seeing the resilience of SLP as the 4e basket value at 31 March was at a low point. The significance of the date is that it is used to value the basket for the whole quarter and used to calculate the majority of unsettled invoices which have grown significantly in the aged debtors pile. The 4e basket value floored at $1800 on the 31 March which was a wicked 25% drop from the previous $2432.

So here we are today after yet another FIRST ..... but unravelling all of the jargon in the RNS's over the past 3 years it still appears that nothing has happened? is there actually an order on the books? wasn't the first order in UAE with a Coffee company 18/02/22? Is there anything on paper except orders in some fictitious pipeline overly described by the masters of twaddle as 'KPI' ....."THE WAREHOUSED GOODS MONETISATION PIPELINE KEY PERFORMANCE INVENTORIES" I'll just leave that there.
I put some concerns to Ai (chat gbt)and got this response "I see why you are eagerly waiting for the quarterly earnings report, right? It's understandable, given the recent drop in the 4e basket value as of 31st March. The 4e basket value is significant because it's used to calculate the majority of unsettled invoices, which have increased significantly in the aged debtors pile. Surely there won't be a 25% credit on $39m worth of invoices will there?
I'm wondering too about the high level of debtors over 90 days and putting myself in the buyers position on a falling market as I think too that I would delay my payment, as the longer I wait the less I pay, right?
I can see why you're concerned about this situation. The 4e basket value floored at $1800 on the 31st of March, which was a 25% drop from the previous value of $2432. However, it will be interesting to see how SLP has managed to maintain its resilience despite these challenging circumstances.
Have you been following SLP's financial performance closely? Do you have any insights or predictions about how the upcoming earnings report might turn out?"

I thanked the Robot for putting this into Artificial Intelligence words and absolving me of anything ...
Should Q3 turn a profit of $4-5m this quarter I will be over the moon knowing its just a blip... imagine $5m profit during the worst trading period over the past few years and then seeing PGM's jump 10% since the accountable day. 4E Basket now $2000 and rising with Platinum going for new highs at 65% of the basket and 37% of the $value.
Well the forthcoming news in Q4 may be amazing albeit the Rh price may dampen spirits.
From report: Lannex MF2 project scheduled for commissioning towards the end of Q4 FY2023;An updated MRE and Scoping Study to combine the Volspruit North and South Body and to include rhodium anticipated to be completed in Q1 FY2024
"As we advance into the second half of the financial year, I anticipate continued solid results as the Tweefontein MF2 capital project is optimised and as we work towards the commissioning of the Lannex MF2 in the latter part of the period. Additionally, we expect to provide further clarity on the significant potential at our exploration projects as we continue our studies and increase our resources.
Elprof - I'd await until the reaction to Q3 results and then swoop - I reckon its going to show a small profit if lucky. Theres going to be a big sales adjustment I reckon of $8m and a further $2m due to exchange loss of the cash pile. Using the basket price of 4E PGMs of $1900 the net profit will 'only' be a few $m a quarter.
Buy after Q3 results but keep an eye of PGM's as the sales adjustment works 2 ways.
imho and a little research.
Two things worry me regarding Rh price, firstly the amount of outstanding debtors that can can claim a reduction come 31st March if the Rh price is below what they were invoiced at over the past 123 days (average $13k oz) so we could be seeing a big adjustment of $5k an oz which has already been booked on the H1 figures. The second is the outstanding debtors day is 123 and not within the 30-90 days claimed by SLP (revenue $79.9m against outstanding debtors of $55m) . In 2021 the company had an extra income of $28m because of sales adjustments as the boot was on the other foot but expect a hit if Rh doesn't revert in the next 10 days. Q3 results could bring bargains and Q4 with news will be amazing.
I see this as a blip and forewarned is forearmed as I am holding and ready to top up.
20 February 2023
The following amendment has been made to the 'February 2023 Dividend Declaration' announcement released on 8 February 2023 at 7.00am under RNS No 2138P.
The title of the announcement should be March 2023 Dividend Declaration instead of February 2023 Dividend Declaration
Shandong needed to shore up their finances and sold 200 kilos, which at first thoughts doesn't seem a lot and would easily fit into the boot of my mini cooper but it's equivalent to the total amount produced by SLP in a year and 10% of the worlds yearly production so when that hit the market @ $79M it had every right to drop a little. On the other hand Platinum made up any drop in the basket value with the help of Palladium too, both in demand for investors. The 4e Basket still remains above $2000 and profit of $10m a quarter and the company remains more popular than Gary Vinegar (yep thats a typo but I am sure when he sees it Sarson's will be more than a little worried if he decides to market it).

I didn't realise they were also trading in Germany 31L:STU 31L:DEU 31L:FRA 31LMUN 31L:BER and in the US SAPL:PFK
Also I noticed that the Financial Times are showing this rather off putting Income Statement Income statement to overseas buyers ...
"Income Statement (USD)
Year on year Sylvania Platinum Ltd's revenues fell -26.28%from 206.11m to 151.94m. In addition, the company has been unable to reduce the cost of goods sold, selling, general and administrative expenses and interest paid (all as a percentage of sales). This has contributed to a -43.74% reduction in net income from 99.81m to 56.15m."
Now would you buy based upon this rather naive headline?
FT no F in comment !!!!!
I feel like a mouse looking at a baited trap ..... I want that 3p but if Rhod drops tomorrow and squeezes me and the bait disappears too, what should I do?
Wait for tomorrow?
but.... for the sake of balance remember "The annual supply of platinum is only about 130 tons – which is equivalent to only 6% (by weight) of the total Western World’s annual mine production of gold. All the platinum ever mined throughout history would fill a basement of less than 25 cubic feet." All the platinum ever mined throughout history would only just be enough to fill a basement of less than 25 cubic feet."
Many dealers on line are showing "out of stock" of PGMs which I think is artificially driving prices down - one dealer however has a SALE on
1/10 oz Rhodium Bar
WAS $2,300.00 NOW $1,300
It's a bit like holding a hot potato at the moment
top tiger - I wasn't being optimistic I just added up the quarters and compared the figures to last year. ...... I'm not clever but I can use a calculator, except for the storage tab, what's that for?
anyway did you read the The Investment Chronical today they state "The production report also revealed that Sylvania has earned $46.4mn of cash profit across the first two quarters of its 2022-23 financial year, up from $36.2mn in the same period in 2021, on slightly higher net revenue of $70mn. This will become apparent when the group reports its interim results on Tuesday, 21 February. Sylvania is set to report 32 per cent higher net profit of $32.2mn." So 32% higher net. I have some other calculations that could increase this including profit from the Chromium Plant sale as well as interest on their pot of money - if held in ZAR deposit rates are 10% -11% and if they played the currency right as I think they would have after all Jaco Prinsloo is the love child of Elon Musk and Elvis (or at best a near anagram of the two). ok The headline 32% increase in Net Profit doesn't tell the whole story but it will capture the moment and send people scrambling on the 21st
H1 Report next week - HI23 v H122
Plant feed up 13%
PGM FEED up 17%
4E up 19%
6E up 16%
Operating costs down 16% (minus)
Net Profit up 32%
Cash up 12.5%
I can't see any worries here especially when the basket price was down 14% so does basket size really matter? QED a big fat NO as I can see.
I was amazed at the performance bearing in mind that Jaco told us in his last video not to expect production to echo Q1 AND THEN HE EXCEEDS IT. So thats 38,470 ozs so far so why the guidance of just 70-72k 4E oz? surely he means 80-82k with Tweefontein now online and Lannex in late Q4.
Forward looking optimism is off the scale when we get those Rhodium figures from Volspruit it will be the icing on the icing.
