This is a good business, with its services in demand, more than ever, you would expect it to be prospering in a growth industry. Unfortunately, Mr Cotton seems determined to drive this company into a ditch, he is that inept, lost count of the number of profit warnings and announcements regarding lost contracts, seems never ending. Now, we know in the real world, it is possible to have the odd setback, but to have several and over a length of time, could be considered careless at best. Perhaps Mr Cotton should consider his position, as I feel a different approach is required, someone who can take control and work through the chaos and disorder we appear to be in.
became an accidental shareholder in NCC, when they completed the takeover of Accumuli. Held the shares ever since as i realised like accumuli this company is growing and will continue to do so. Now with the pull back in the share price, which I consider overdone, I have taken this opportunity to obtain another 2K shares @ 199 to add to my holding. Too good an opportunity to pass up. IMO
This is the reply, I received today from Barclays, does this sound like a bank to have confidence in ? Good Afternoon Mr xxxxx Thank you for your email regarding Dividends. You are correct that the pay date for National Grid is 10/08/2016. As a nominee account holder you can expect this dividend payment no later than 17/08/2016. I notice that you have queried dividend payment dates before, so I would like to confirm that from the listed payment dates of all stocks, it will take us usually 5 working days to pay our individual investors, such as yourself. The reason for this is that we receive one bulk payment from each dividend paying stock, and this payment is broken down into a smaller payment depending on your holding amount. Needless to say I will be taking my business away from Barclays soon as I find this unacceptable and not in the best interest of its customers.
I am still waiting for my dividend from Barclays, is it just me, but Barclays are always late paying the dividend payments into my account, I understand the payment was due on the 10th. Has anybody else received their dividend from NG
Seems that Red Leg has finally got approval for sale in the US, according to You invest, It has taken a long time, but hopefully now the wait is over we will see Distil go on and carve out a decent market share in the niche market they will be targeting. Along with their other products, Black Vodka and Blackwoods Gin, It is all to play for. I have high hopes for this company to do well.
Still the worst group, no hope of a recovery, not going anywhere, have hit the buffers and will continue to slide into oblivion as long as O'Foole is running this company, the worst CEO for the worst company, I rest my case.
Goldman Sachs have increased their holding, of course they could be buying for a client, but interesting it is before Xmas and the sales figures are released. I visited my local Morrison's store before Christmas It was my first visit, although I have been a shareholder for a few years now. I found it to be very busy as expected, the staff were very helpful and I was quite impressed. I hope this points to better things to come, keeping my fingers crossed.
So GT is saying sell LRE, well ha, I would not listen to this broker, even if they were the only brokers, what do they know about anything, almost every prediction made by them is plain wrong, however if you listen to them and then wait long enough, they will eventually be right, just not in this decade.
I sincerely hope you are right 50glass, I am another long suffering investor in this company and all I can say is that there have been many false dawns, this company insists on investing in other loss making companies rather than pay a dividend. I lost faith in the management of this company a long time ago, they don't seem to have much of a strategy going forward and if they do have one, nobody can make any sense of it.
As a matter of interest, the Globo PLC website is still online and operating, I haven't tried the Contact Us link, maybe I should, so I can ask for my money back. Of course in all the fall out from this, not only have we, the shareholders lost money, but I should also imagine the genuine employees must be on the verge of losing their jobs, If they haven't done so already. That link for Value walk was interesting and tells the full story, It seems Globo would have gone on with this scam, deceiving everyone and that trying to raise funds in USA with their high yield bond, was their undoing. The only thing I do not understand and perhaps somebody else has a better slant on this is Costis was still buying shares in his company as late as September? Why do this if you think you are about to be found out.
You have to wonder, right up to the suspension, this company was still being recommended as a *Buy* in at least one share tipping magazine, I remember reading the article, fortunately I did not act on it, despite having a modest investment of approx 3,000 shares in this company, which I bought when they were around 18p, you know I never topped up despite several recommendations because I always had a nagging doubt about this company. As somebody previously mentioned, it was always hard to see how this company made so much money, there was never any real evidence and yet they were being tipped regularly by one share tipping magazine or another. I only wish I had sold my modest investment when the shares topped around 70p -80p I seem to remember, hindsight is a wonderful thing, is it not. Now I am going through all my other shares, wondering if there is another Globo, waiting to tank, happy days.
Another day, another fall in SP, does not surprise me anymore, the BOD do not seem to know what is happening. I see the final dividend is due soon, with shares going ex-dividend on 02.July, you would think the shares would rise in value, but with TATE anything is possible. I have also noted that just about every broker out there has downgraded these shares, they have do not believe the BOD are capable of turning this company around, meanwhile like Nero, the CEO fiddles while Rome burns. I am off to watch the Muppet show with my nephews/niece which does remind me of the BOD, which one would Javed Ahmed be, I wonder.
Today's figures were every bit as bad as we thought they would be, with no respite on the horizon. The worrying thing is the Speciality food ingredients business has suffered as well as the other parts of the business. The company talks about the evolution of Tate & Lyle into a global Speciality Food Ingredients business supported by cash generated from Bulk Ingredients, yet the results today do not support their vision. Another year of going backwards, with no improvement in sight. The only bright spot is the dividend has been maintained, but for how long before that too, is cut. I have no faith in the current BOD, but then I have been saying this for some time now.
I have followed Galvan recommendations for some time and I have to say an endorsement from them is not necessarily a good thing, on the contrary, I stopped listening to them after SDI to name one, but there are many others. Of course I still look but usually now, I take no action. This way I end up better off, as all their recommendations usually plummet in value.
Had notification today, consolidation is happening this weekend, with record date on 13.03.15 and 9 for every 11 shares held, to be completed by Monday 16.03.15, also get the cash as promised, I expect the SP to fall back on Monday as the consolidation takes place.
So lets recap, since the start of 2014, the share price has sunk a further 16% and the CEO, Tim O'Foole, sorry O'Toole has doubled his salary to £2M, nice earner for him, especially as he was looking to retire in 2002, I guess he could not resist the lure of another big pay day and First Group have certainly provided him with that. Lets be honest O'Toole is nothing more than an American lawyer, not exactly qualified to run a large corporation deep in financial trouble and not likely to improve any time soon. FGP must have been desperate to appoint such a lightweight applicant to the role of CEO, hopefully the big institutional investors will have him removed soon, only then can the recovery process start with a new CEO at the helm.
Am I right in thinking, that because I have held my SL shares since August 2014, I will get the Special Dividend that will be paid early next year. The reason I ask is because I have not received any information from my stockbroker, I currently hold the shares inside an ISA and I would like to know if I qualify as I hear so many different versions of who qualifies.
Oh my God, here we go again, just as we seemed to have turned the corner and the SP recovered some what, Wham, we are hit with another profit warning, surely the management team must have seen this coming and all the excuses they trotted out today is a bit lame, to say the least. I am not impressed with their performance, however I have been a shareholder in this company for a few years now and I do not intend to bale out just yet. I would like to know a lot more about how they intend to turn this around before I can feel confident the CEO and the board are up to the job.
