Giorgi Tatishvili also exposed Zaza Mamulaishvili’s lies when he said that allegedly the state owed some debt to the oil company: "The state has zero debt to Frontera Eastern Georgia," said Giorgi Tatishvili at the meeting. Many more violations were revealed at the meeting by employees: for example, the fact that the CEO of the company arbitrarily violated the terms of the employment agreement and reduced employees' remuneration without any written agreement; Notwithstanding the sale of 5500 tonnes of crude oil, their due salaries were not reduced, to the contrary, increased, citing the fact that the company had another, much more significant debts to pay...
“Although the company is private and it is a dispute between private parties, more than 130 Dedoplistskaro' residents work in it, the fate of each of our compatriots is important to us. Therefore, the government will protect its citizens as much as possible, ”Nikoloz Janiashvili said at the meeting.
According to Giorgi Tatishvili, if there is a deal between Frontera and the state, the government's No. 1 reservation will be to payment of due salaries by the company. The head of the agency also noted that there are alternative ways, including a court ruling. In case of any of them, the interests of Frontera employees will be protected.
The employees that were financially damaged have announced a general strike since November 28, pointing out that this is a compulsory step to prevent irresponsible management of the company from selling the oil. To get to the wells, they have no fuel and there is transportation provided. Frontera's employees have appealed to the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation for the necessary measures to prevent the abandonment of wells and causing any environmental catastrophe.
Representatives of the oil company thanked Nikoloz Janiashvili and Giorgi Tatishvili for their support and expressed hope that the problem would be resolved soon.
According to Frontera Eastern Georgia employees, state institutions are now assisting them in finding justice. “Until now, we were hesitant to bring the case to court because we did not think that the company, which has been operating since 1997 and headed by Zaza Mamulaishvili, would abandon us. This company became our second family, so we were careful and thought the situation would be resolved inside, but patience also has its limits. Now the state institutions are helping us and we hope that justice will be celebrated”, said the meeting participants.

Frontera Eastern Georgia Employees – the Fight Goes On
“We have involved the state institutions…”
Employees of the Georgian-American oil company Frontera Eastern Georgia, which have several months of debt, have exhausted all forms of peaceful dialogue with the company's CEO, Zaza Mamulaishvili. After the rally outside the US Embassy, ??the victims took legal battle tactics - they petitioned to the Georgian State Oil and Gas Agency and filed a lawsuit.
On November 27, Dedoplistskaro Municipality Mayor Nikoloz Janiashvili met with the head of the State Oil and Gas Agency of Georgia, Giorgi Tatishvili, with the staff of the Frontera Oil Company.
According to Frontera's representatives, the company has not been paid their salaries for 10 months. As the head of the agency noted, "They have had problems with the Frontera Eastern Georgia for a long time. In particular, despite a request from the State Oil and Gas Agency, the company did not provide them with information on the amount of oil extracted. Frontera was even fined for this misdemeanor. The penalty was GEL 5,000. “How the relationship between the company and its employees was regulated, the agency had no information about it until you appealed to us about it”, - Tatishvili said.

These are the quotes that came in the wake of the comments that led to a reduction in employees and unpaid leave. You might not be surprised to say that the unsatisfied employees were met by cynicism and even threats from the other side. That made the relationship between the company and employees even more vague and even led the negotiations to a halt. As employees told the Shiraki newspaper, they already came to the meeting with reduced salaries and a working hand, which is also unfair.
Most employees no longer believe in company promises. Not even the hope that the General Director of the company spoke about. Nor about the future they could have with the company, not the months of unpaid salaries. It seems as though people are more likely to be patient, but not in this case ... Patience has become a synonym for the struggle for the employees of Frontera Eastern Georgia.
Employees of Frontera Eastern Georgia intend to continue fighting for their rights. The only way they can see this is in permanent protests. In the near future, with the demand to receive their salaries, they plan to hold a rally at the US Embassy.

It is said that hope dies last, but according to the staff of the Frontera Eastern Georgia, this has been a long time coming for them and they will not do anything to help. Neither the wait, nor the understanding, nor the respect, nor the many years of working together have helped Zaza Mamulashvili, the General Director of the company, continue to ask them for patience and for the company to overcome the crisis. Still in vain. It is already the second meeting that we hear phrases like "Be patient, Wait, Drop it", that have become the words of one big, cohesive circle. A circle that has no beginning and no end.
As Zaza Mamulashvili, General Director of the company said, there is progress in the dispute over the company with the government. According to him, virtually all issues are resolved positively, except for one related to the contract between the state and the company. The company has a contract until 2027, the company is trying to extend the contract after 2027, otherwise the production of wells will be useless and there will be no time left for the investor to return the investment. According to him, after discussing the issue and negotiating with the state it will be possible to sign an agreement with investment banks and conclude a new financing agreement. This will automatically result in the company continuing to operate under the old regime and giving employees salaries over time (exact timing is not yet known!). The crisis period, he said, is until the end of January 2020, after which positive changes are expected in both the relationship with the state, investment banks and the company. (The exact time is also unknown here!)
This statement was followed by dissatisfaction with the gathered staff. Some even left the hall in protest and refused to attend the meeting. One of the women in attendance expressed her emotional distress at the families of those present: “If you go into these people's families, you will cry. Some have student children, some have bank debts, some have health issues. Look at these people, they've gone through this service and they've lived it all their lives. It is a sin and a crime, a violation of the rights of hard working people who are justly demanding what they have been for months. Do something."
“Give us your salaries. Or else no one will go to work. We will not allow the extracted oil to be passed. The wells will no longer work. How do you imagine being human, being collegial, for any of us to stay at work and the rest of us to be at home with employees and not worry about all this? ”
Frontera Eastern Georgia VS Employees

Employees of the oil company Frontera Eastern Georgia in Dedoplistskaro have been protesting for three months. They refused to attend the workplace and produce oil from oil wells after failing to get an accurate answer on their ten-month due salaries. On October 26, Zaza Mamulashvili, the company's General Director, met with the strikers but failed to reach a consensus. The General Director requested the deadline until November 5. Despite the pessimistic attitude of Dedoplistskaro residents, most of the staff gave it one more chance. However, as it became clear from the November 7 meeting, again in vain...
“Everything is stopped, or it will stop until our salaries are paid. I don't think this meeting will be resolved positively either. What happened before will be even worse today. Again, there will be an unsolved problem with the government in front of us. What else can we expect? I don't believe in anything anymore. The government needs to hear our voice too. Should someone pay attention to us? They shall give us our salary and I don't think I will continue to work there. "
“We don't know what to expect anymore. We strive to get what we worked for to be paid legally. How things will turn out, I really can't predict. But the fact is that all this has been going on for years. We can't move forward, on the contrary, we go back and forth. Obviously, people's problems cannot be solved. Whoever settles, then let us look and pay attention. We demand, first and foremost, our salaries. Nobody has any other interest. When a man or woman is out of work and waiting for his or her salary at the end of the month, he or she is abused for months without pay. Offers are not fulfilled. "
“I also think these temporary offers are a farce. We can freely demand whatever the company owes for 10 months. ”
“This is actually the last point we have come to. If necessary, we will arrange a meeting at the town hall as well. ”
“We have not sued because we still hoped for negotiations and agreement. In addition, the processes are often ongoing for years, which is still linked to our finances. So we're still looking for ways to improve. "
“Time works against us. It is with these promises and the delay of time that we have come to this situation. ”
It sounds unbelievable, but it is still the sentiment of those who wrote in our newspaper article of October 26, 2019, " Sisyphus’ Patience as a Punishment." There was no way out of the hardship and long-suffering of the front-line staff at Frontera Eastern Georgia. Many months of unpaid salaries, unanswered questions and still disgruntled employees who spent about two weeks confused and who came to the meeting hoping that at least some of the promises would come true.

Employees of Frontera Eastern Georgia Hold Protest Rally at US Embassy
Employees of Frontera Eastern Georgia are holding a rally outside the US embassy, ??demanding a 10-month debt from the US-Georgian oil company.
According to them, the company carries out oil production, drilling, loading and sale as usual and those working in heavy industries have to work in extreme conditions without a health policy.
“We are protesting that we have accumulated 10 months of debt for 4 years, which we have not received. We are demanding the remuneration of our salaries for which we have worked, worked and have not received to date. Everybody standing here is an employee of this company and they all have the same problem, ”rally participant Iveri Tsiklauri said.
Protesters will move from the nearby embassy to the government administration.

“Winter is coming, how are we warming up or what are we eating? We were hoping for this salary. We wait, but does our patience have a limit ?!
“My son is a student. What can I do to pay my tuition fee? It turns out that he should stop learning ..."
The answer to all of these concerns and questions was one: offer patience. “Today the company is in crisis. We will reimburse our salaries after overcoming difficulties. But today you are asking for money from a company that has no money ... then why would you not try and get more oil? There would be no crisis!”
This replica caused a lot of people's anger.
One part of the employees also stated that if they do not receive salaries, they will not refrain from picketing the railway, and they received a threatening response: "Whoever hurts the company will be severely punished"!
At the end of the meeting, the head of the company again asked for a deadline until November 5 and promised the employees that they would be able to solve their problem within 10 days. Even though most employees no longer believe his promises, he still has the final chance. Dissatisfied with the meeting, the participants left the courtroom and said they were not going to give up and would use all means, including legal, to protect their rights. As they said at their meeting, the back road is cut and they have nothing to lose! As for their punishment, Frontera Eastern Georgia has already punished them enough.
God bless optical recognition

Sisyphus' patience as a punishment
10 months of frozen salaries, canceled insurance, non-payment accumulated debt and increased bank debt, leaving many at risk of being left without apartments - a situation that Frontera Eastern Georgia staff found themselves in.
“We have debt in every bank, penalties are accrued and astronomical amounts have already been paid. This too is a violation of the law. We have taken out payroll loans, in which case the bank has no right to impose penalties on me, but ... I have been fined at TBC Bank for 5 months, that is, but if I had paid all my employees, I would have been denied this privilege. Last year Mamulashvili promised to pay us the fines, I kept his promise, went to the bank and made an extract. It looks like his promise turned out to be empty words, ”said one demonstrator.
Employees of the Georgian-American Oil Company in Dedoplistskaro have been working unpaid for 10 months. As they say, oil production is in a continuous state, but their salaries are still "seized". All employees of the company have an employment contract, which is automatically extended monthly. Although the terms of the contract, along with the employee's obligations, also include the employer's obligations, including the terms of pay, no one has been punished for breach. Employees of the oil company continue to work continuously and are patiently waiting for Sisyphus's goodwill - when they are paid their salaries ...
On October 23, 80 employees of Frontera Eastern Georgia met with Zaza Mamulashvili, CEO of the company and asked him to answer the question - When will they receive their 10-month debt? Or where does the money coming from the sale of their raw materials go into the company?
As Zaza Mamulashvili stated at the meeting, a dispute is going on in the court which needs costs. Although raw materials are being searched, their two accounts have been deposited (?!). One, a seizure of GEL 250,000, was recently lifted and employees received salaries, while the other reported a GEL 130,000 seizure. That is why their remuneration cannot be paid. According to Mamulashvili, the state creates another problem. There is a 5-point agreement that is being negotiated with the state. There are two points: exemption from VAT and excise tax (?!). As a result of the agreement reached with the state, their company will be transferred VAT amount, which will help them to pay their salaries without problems.
At the meeting there was a heartfelt heartache of people that were met with sometimes cynical and sometimes threatening ...
